The only drawback would be if you got one of the "unwanted noise" interpretations of telepathy.

If your scheme is to make big bucks and nothing grander than that then telepathy is better than technopathy.
If the money is split between several banks and accounts, the amounts that each bank has a record of wont seem unusual which means they'll have no reason to report it.
Besides, that was only one way to make money, there are still things like going to a casino and making a few mil that way. and using technopathy means you don't have to deal with the moral issues involved in controlling someone's mind.
