It's not so much he likes and is proud of his own character as he is someone who more or less goes out of his ways to retcon other writers' use and work of the character because "they didn't put Thanos over enough". Thanos may have been his creation, sure, but he doesn't own the rights to him; Marvel does.

If there were a writer who protected Thor you'd be loving it.

I've read Thanos. Without prep or special artifacts, he's sub-skyfather to low end skyfather at his best. Him getting his ass kicked by Odin is proof of that much.
lol? Like what? Thor losing fights and then turning around and saying it was a Thorsi or Thorbot? That doesn't even make sense. And no, I don't prefer my characters to be coddled and wanked over by writers, thanks.

I don't really care about Darkseid one way or the other, so yeah.
It's a cop out regardless to use as excuse for low showings whether it be from Thanos, Doom, Seid, Kang, etc.

I never said in the same manner use your imagination. I mean wow.

This again? Only in your warped Thanos addled mind do you think that the fight was anything less than Odin kicking Thanos' ass. I've literally seen you go from "it was a stalemate" to "Odin was lucky the fight ended". And then this whole upgrade nonsense where Thanos pulls off about two feats that you strongly disbelieve that Odin could replicate had the situations/context been reversed. "Oh, he beat Maker." Yeah, he used his guile and attacked when she was vulnerable. It's impressive, but not as impressive as the false implication that Thanos outright defeated her. "Galactus blast." Riiiiight. And Odin can't summon enough power - which can destroy galaxies - to send Galactus flying a great distance only to just piss him off?
Either way, no, I don't want a writer wanking my favorite characters. I'd like them to respect them, but no, I don't want a Bendis/Pak/Jenkins handling them. And lol at "bellyaching". Have you read some of the posts you've made in response to ODG in this thread?

Its fine to retcon an embarrassing defeat or two but when you try to dismiss something that doesn't really require dismissal its stepping into the world of a Pygmalion.

In a Starlin written comic? Thanos.
Starlin tries to make Thanos this extremely intelligent character but a character can only be as smart as the writer. In my opinion, most characters just come off being stupid instead of Thanos being intelligent in the end. The Elders in the Thanos Quest are a perfect example. He also wanks Warlock. In the Infinity Gauntlet, I swear to god, a quarter of it had Warlock describing how he had this master plan that no one could top and even had the Cosmic beings follow it. The plan consisted of Surfer trying to snatch the Infinity Gauntlet. Lol. And it was even timed that well either.
Doom.
Thanos.
Doom.
Depends on what you mean by evil. Probably Doom at this point.
^ and it ended with warlock gaining the gauntlet..... 😐
warlock knew thanos would give it up long before thanos quest even happened, he read his soul and knew he would relinquish his hold on the universe everytime.
the heroes/cosmics "failing" actually worked out in the end cause thanos ran out of opponents to crush.

He retcons work he feels doesn't fit in with Thanos' personality at the time. There's nothing wrong with that, afterall, Thanos's first appearance in comics was a robot.

Can you be a little more specific buddy on what you're referring to with the high and low?

I know. I read the entire arc. It still doesn't change the fact that his master plan was so....simple. I know a plan doesn't have to be complicated to work but shit, he could have at least organized the heroes, ordering them to distract him in the most effective way, so that Surfer could snatch the gauntlet at the most opportune moment. It just all seems....forced to me and seems like a bit of cockstrocking on Starlin's part.
The Infinity Gauntlet definitely had some ridiculously cool moments. The Captain America scene was jaw.
The entire "only Thanos can defeat Thanos concept" is what gave birth to quanchi.
Okay...
