Apocalypse's armor is metallic and he has nano-technology infused into his body, most likely due to the fact that he added Celestial Technology to himself. Apocalypse is a human mutant, just with metallic armor; he also has the TO virus.

One thing I don't know about Apoc. is what mutant powers was he born with? 90% of the powers he has are not his natural born mutant powers.
