I actually did laugh once or twice at him and his cloned blue buddies being super evil. I'm still a little confused on how he returned other than that he was basically cloned, I guess? But why did they make him a Na'vi? Why not just human again? To make him that much stronger and formidable, I guess?

I found her sort of hypnotic, but also a little distracting because I realized eventually that it was Sigourney Weaver playing a teenager, so the voice was weird. But I may have to go back and watch Avatar (2009) again to see her contact with Eywa because it seems
Spoiler:So you know that's going to become a big plot element in the sequels...
she was born directly of Eywa, because apparently her pregnancy was "mysterious."

Spoiler:But it will obviously be a bigger element as the series progresses. I'm so glad the plot is going to thicken.
The whale oil, amrita, is one of the most fascinating things they brushed over
So as far as box office numbers go, sounds like it was expected to make $160-170 million opening weekend, but ended up with $134 million. But there are legitimate reasons for why it didn't do that (3-hour runtime for example), and it will likely have legs moving forward with good audience reviews and given that it's already made almost $500 million worldwide it seems like it's already done pretty damn well. But it's going to take another weekend or two to really see how it's going to do. It's apparently already outperformed Avatar (2009) even adjusted for inflation.
So apparently he's already filmed 3 and even the first act of 4. That's pretty crazy...
Well it was visually magnificent but other than that it was a bit basic.
They also lifted a chunk of the movie straight out of that concept trailer that came years ago called Leviathan

I think I tried to watch that movie at one point...
What the fuc# is it with sky whales? That's way goofier than Avatar imo.

Nice interviews in this featurette...

China's being a b!tch with its Coronavirus troubles.
It did seem like he was exaggerating a bit, but I just figured there was things he knew that we didn't...
Also... 😂

So, quick update.. it's still kicking ass at the box office.
And then there's this...
Avatar 3 Will Feature A Villainous Na'vi Fire Nation Called The 'Ash People'
""I want to reveal the Na'vi from another angle because [so far] I have only shown their good sides. In the early films, there are very negative human examples and very positive Na'vi examples. In 'Avatar 3,' we'll do the reverse."
To me this is excellent news. Some blurring of the lines of the "good vs bad" dichotomy. That's what annoyed me so much about Avatar 1.
Not sure if this is official concept art or not, but it seems pretty legit..

Really enjoyed this. Although tbh about a third to half way through it was dragging I thought no way I could sit through this again. But when all was said and done, I definitely will watch it again, and not sure there was much that could have been taken out.
Still think I prefer the first one though (rewatched before going to see this).
