Atum vs Tyrant

I don't exactly remember but Thanos was somehow cheating, was he not?
He stole an orb from Tyrant's ship which contained knowledge pertaining to Tyrant himself -- no amps/upgrades/cheats were ever mentioned, though.

Listen to Galan when he drops knowledge. The man speaks truth.

Wel..that's what I meant by "cheat", knowledge is power after all 😮 😛

The Orb was also said to contain the power drained from Morg; the trouble is that the status of the orb was portrayed very inconsistently. On the one hand, it was very clear that Thanos was getting the orb to access Morg's power; on the other hand, Morg was also shown as being re-powered, so that doesn't really make sense; on the other hand, the art in the fight (power aura around the orb) suggests Thanos DID draw power from the orb; yet, on the other hand, Thanos later states that the Orb contains knowledge. It is very badly written, and unfortunately this fight, like the Thanos fight with Odin, tends to get used a lot when trying to establish power hierarchies. My own feeling is that Thanos was amped, but the writing was inconsistent enough that I think the other view (that it only contained knowledge) is completely valid too.

In other issues of Cosmic Powers Unlimited it's expounded upon that those orbs contain knowledge and nothing but knowledge (they're called Tyrant's knowledge orbs, even...), and the big T has hundreds/thousands of them.

That's why we know with certainty, in hindsight, that Thanos was simply armed with...knowledge.

Knowledge can be a way to attain greater power, as Korvac clearly showed.

Besides that I agree with Simbon, the portrations of the orb was hardly consistant, if the orb contained nothing but knowledge I find it strange that Thanos would utilize it as he did against Tyrant, but that is just my opinion.

problem with that stance--though i agree with it in hindsight--is the clear depiction of the battle's dramatic turn once he got the orb. i still say that when the battle was originally depicted, the orb DID amp him. that was later retconned though by the cosmic powers book.

Yeah it really did look like the orbs amped his blasts 😬

Thanos never battled Tyrant prior to having the orb though, so how was there a 'dramatic turn once he got' it?

Galactus did that being severely weakened, Atum is no where near Galactus you are speculating because sky-fathers can destroy galaxies, So has Galactus battling Tyrant so what's your point? Galactus stated by Watcher and Eternity Galactus has enough power too destroy the universe 10x over. Atum would get butt f**Ked by Galactus and anybody else in between.

Atum is good but not that good. MM well written will murder Atum.

You're confusing 'well written' with 'hyperbole.'

And newer stories suggest that Nate Grey helped Sentry "stalemate" Galactus, supposedly.

Spiderman doesn't know what hes talking about about the Galactus-Sentry incident.

not really. the people who created sentry wanted him to be a galactus level being, he was supposed to be the wrath of Toaa like spectre, untill they changed everything

Please quit making things up.
