There is ofcause also the possibility that whatever power the orb contained was depleted during the fight with Tyrant and what was left was a "husk" containing knowledge.

I am pretty sure orb contained also some power. Firstly, it seemed that way, secondly it was only chance for Thanos to stand some chance against DP Tyrant.

does atum get the orb?

look at these scans (note these guys are vastly powerful in there realms, presumely low fed galactus levels)

i doubt tyrant can do this, mephisto stalemated galactus there too
