But Lord-Marvell was clearly shown to be a force to be reckoned with here.
Absolutely. A force well beyond any of the heroes present.

Surfer will take him down, once the abstracts nullify the influence of the "Many Angled Ones".

Surfer was cool in how he instantly dispatched the "big guns", whilst dropping some dead pan humour (highlight of the comic ✅ .... well that and when Drax got his!)

btw, off-topic, anyone read Cthulhu mythos based comics? any good titles out there?

been following this quite engrossing series of comics called The Calling... wish Marvel would explore the occult priesthood's mythos more (might have been better than Chaos War's premis).

The story is surrounding Richard and Thanos currently. I doubt SS is the one to put down Lord Marvel.

Richard did better then Norrin vs Mar-vell 😛.

It's being set up so that Rich, Thanos or maybe both deliver the Coup de grace.

Poor Drax!

DnA had a Cthulhu theme setting up quite nicely in the MU until this chaos war shyte. To do it now in the 616 universe would only cause more confusion imo.

i really dont know why sepulveda decided to go back to the out-dated costumes for drax and Thanos. the black combat pants and tattoos and daggers were a far better look than this buffoonery with his cape and all that shit.

and thanos gave up his old attire in the Thanos limited series, during the Samaritan story. Supposed to signify his turn of character. That outit was far, far better than his blue and gold one

As long as Drax remains intelligent I don't mind the dress. Dumb Drax would be a little off in Marvel Cosmics right now.

I remember those idiots saying Drax wouldn't bust a non upgraded Thanos 😖hifty:

I think what everybody is trying to say, the proper translation to the events that transpired is 'Superman is more durable than Thanos'.

Nah, anti-matter in the DC universe is just weaker than in Marvel biscuits

The same way blackholes are, right?

ha-som

This is what one reviewer had to say:

Marvel seems to have difficulty understanding cosmic and understanding what cosmic fans want if their characterization of the upcoming Chaos War as cosmic is any measure._ So, let me try to set the record straight._ Chaos War is magical-mythological high fantasy._ Annihilation, Kree-Skrull War, and Thanos Imperative are cosmic military science-fiction/science-fantasy._ Cosmic fans want the more Star-Wars-ish science-fiction/science-fantasy stories._ This, The Thanos Imperative, is the type of storyline cosmic fans want.

I absolutely agree with that assessment.

Well, you actually have to be pretty dumb to make a mythological concept a cosmic one...

Unless you're Jack Kirby of course.

Or the current Marvel brass apparently.

You know what I'd like to see? The Elders of the Universe joining the fight. Especially Champion, he needs more respect. Maybe we can have him punching apart giant canververse ships and creatures.

You know that's not half bad, although perhaps it's a little bit late in the game to place additional chess pieces on the board.

However I'd love to see Champion written sans the buffoonery.

It would be interesting to have a plot around the Elders in some other event or ongoing. I don't think cramming the current scene is the big right way to go -I also would like a plot with the Titan eternals-.
