The Thanos Imperative!

I knew it would come down to Thanos vs. Mar-Vell . Called it a few pages back. In my book , Thanos > Mar-Vell in any form.

Better than Nova wanking. we had this in annihilation

Is it really wanking? Nova hasn't done anything out of character power-wise, and Rich has become an excellent leader with a clear path in his character progression. dmills's doting is a bit much imo, but he's legitimately become a great character, up from the D-list just a few years ago.

So does just about any Earth-based event book. What's your point?

how about some scans?

Buy this, it's worth it. Besides, I take down issue-sharing scans when I see them, as it goes against KMC's policy on it.

Likely because Marvel markets their Earth-based titles (especially anything related to Hulk) much more than their cosmic titles.

It's like Queseda wants Cosmic Marvel to shrivel up and die...

I'm likely to buy everything from the Thanos mini to this if it's really the end of a whole story arc. I didn't read many of the Nova issues but from comments it seems worth reading.

Also, I don't think it all comes down to Thanos and Marvell, surely the Guardians and Nova will end up saving everything last second by sheer improvisation like they always do 😉

I'm hoping so. They're basically the C-list cosmic crew, so the fact that they're consistently pretty awesome and pull stuff out of their ass is great.

don't get me wrong. I like the character and his development all these years. I just see this event as an oportunity for other, less popular characters to shine too. after all, annihilation was all about Nova saving everyone's ass. i was hopping now, after the assemblance of such a team there would be equal promotion of every character. still ronan, bill and gladiator were always in the limelight.

anyway I'm happy they give Quasar his share of feats in this issue at least

You really think Annihilation was all about Nova saving everyone? You know that I pimp the guy every chance I get, (in jest most of the time just to rattle a few feathers😈) but I think that the story was much bigger then that.

Sure it was a sort of coming of age for the Nova character, but in the end it was actually Norrin and Galan that ended up saving everyones bacon. And could they have even done that were it not for Moon Dragon revealing Annihilus's ultimate plans to Thanos? Could Nova have defeated Annihilus without some interference from Phyla? IMO Annihilation was much bigger then one character, which is another reason why it was so great. Ultimately, true cosmic is bigger then any one character.

HEY! Take that back!

In all seriousness, do I lay it on a little thick? Maybe. As I said before I enjoy seeing peoples jaws get tight when I say that I think Nova could beat xyz in a forum battle. So in that sense some of it is in jest. Most of the peeps that hang around the vs forums know when I'm serious and when I'm BSing.

Truth be told I don't think I show any more love for my guy then anyone else shows for their's. You have Superman lovers, Thor jockeys, Surfer fanboys etc. Some people just can't stand that I happen to be a fan of a so called b-list character and would dare have the audacity to suggest that he could beat their guy in a vs battle.

There is no way Dmills is overdone as a Nova fan.

The fact is he should be tons more outspoken than he is. Because Nova is wayyyyy underrated.

Nova is underrated, but that doesn't stop Dmills from being a fanboy.

There I said it.

I love D-lister books, cosmics are like candy to me.

of course it's not all about him and it's not that only his actions that save the day (he's no Superman - which I'm happy for). all I'm saying that he gets much more spotlight than the others included in the story. In TI for example Iwas waiting for more Gladiator and Ronan action.

Having said that I do like the character and I'm happy with his development the last years

The most obvious outcome in my opinion is that Thanos is double crossing Mar-Vell and his death brings Death back into Mar-Vell's realm while Starlord/Nova seal the fault, getting stuck on the wrong side of the fault. I just hope to be surprised and that it doesn't actually end that way.

Anyway, did anyone see the stone Thanos statue? Looks like he never got resurrected as Death wasn't around.

I think that is the easiest way to solve everything, though I would argue if killing Thanos would actually release Death again in the Cancerverse. I would rather have Thanos overrunned by life because he was such a p*ssy and the Guardians somehow completing the ritual without him.

Thanos treating Mar-Veil like a calling him a flea was both awsome and hilarious

This stone statue, I didn't see it in #5. Which other one did you refer to?

I prefer the term "Hopeless romantic". 😍

When's issue#6 due to drop?

Issue 3, when Thanos was fighting Drax.

I'm having a hard time grasping how they will tie the story together in the last book, there seems to be a lot more to cover than one book can possibly deliver. I hope Marvel won't drop the ball on this one.

I think everything will hinge on what thanos does. Suppose he's just playing around and intends to undue the ritual that mar-vell did. Then Death comes back, the power of the MAOs is broken, the Galactus engine explodes, the invaders are chased back to their native universe, and starlord and nova become immortalized as heroes.

it can happen in 1 issue...
