STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Chains

It looks like people largely just stay out of the 'no man's land,' as it were. Thugs have a clear shot at anyone coming toward the cylindrical structure.

Speaking of which, the bridge reaches up to the top of the dome. It has many levels.

Many levels that probably have guards on them for sniping.

Wentar will ask around the market as to why that area is a no mans land.

Charisma 5 + 3 from Presence, I'm unsure if it's a Persuade or a Savoir-Faire matter to get info from a crowd.

Observation to check for sniper posts... says yes, there are little gun slots at various levels on the bridge. Not many, though.

Savoir-Faire is the proper skill here, and you roll well.

You find out that most of the people going into or out of the bridge are either:

- Men on guard duty. Most of the thugs are outside stopping people before they get near the bridge, but there are some inside.

- Merchants wishing to discuss a variety of business with Lo'joon. Shipping taxation, contracts, etcetera.

- Lo'joon himself, and a reliable confirmation that Hanza is indeed here and on the bridge currently.

Yeah, I definitely don't want to go there right now. I intend to avoid Hanza for as long as possible.

I'll go see what Vlad and Emso turned up during their stakeout.

... I can't find what they were supposed to be staking out!

Could I have Emso and Vlad stake out the Elevator and watch for anyone proceeding to the prison level? I want to get a general idea of how frequently they change shifts, who goes down there, etc.
Here it is!

Right!

The shifts for the "cargo" level switch every six hours.

Vlad reports that nobody really notable goes down there except slavers grabbing their stock and thugs keeping guard.

Interesting, how many to a shift? Pairs or more?

About four at the entrance. More inside.

Hmm, tricky. I was hoping to catch one or two alone, take their uniforms and sneak in that way.

I recall that you need a card to enter the prison area. Do we know if it's just a card or any fancy hand/face scanner dealies?

There are more thugs scattered about the Seat. You think it possible to grab one alone...

It is a security card. You are not sure if only a select few have them or if every security guard does.

Yeah, perhaps a use of empathy on the next shift change and take the leaders card, is that possible?

The leader of the incoming shift or the leaving shift?

Hmmm. That's a tough one, the leaving shift would be easier to get but we can get to Altar sooner with the incoming shift.

Do we know where the shift starts from? Perhaps there's a blind spot where we can take the leader and just BS that he was called away and we were sent to take over.

The shifts come from a guard station somewhere in the Seat... and they come all together.

Interesting, so the only plan would involve infiltrating the Seat, tricky business.

Do we have a time frame on when we have to get Altar out by yet. I know they've got an execution planned, but no idea when it'll take place.

The only time frame is when you set things in motion.

The Seat is the name for the entire station. You just don't know where the stations are.

The problem is that you need the passcard to get to the prison level at all. Vlad has been able to spot the shifts coming in and out of the lift and figure out who they are.

Indeed, too bad we don't have anyone sneaky to steal the card... or even follow them to find out where they originate from.

I suppose a shift schedule might be handy to have if we can locate and acquire one.

Lets go over the plan again;
Step one, get to the prison level, we'll need to get the passcard for that.
Step two, find and free Altar, without a lay out of the prison level that will be tricky, maybe I should ask around and see if any off duty guards have any info there.
Step three, get to the ship, should be doable to just elevator from prison level to docking bay.
Step four, load up the slaves, I might have to visit the guy before we perform the prison break and get him started then, so when we make a run for the ship everything will be ready.
Step five, escape. Should be the easiest part so long as Emso has the hangar doors jammed by then.

Really, at this point I just have to figure out the passcard dealie. I might have to risk it and just follow one of the shift changes without intrusion to find out where they are stationed. In fact, I may be able to BS that I am an off duty security guard who just wants to check his upcoming shifts. Is that possible?

Very difficult to accomplish if you plan on interacting with them. Presence gives you the advantage of not being noticed, even without the Intrusion skill. It would just be a Hard difficulty roll (successes only show on 6s).

I suppose that if they confront me about it afterward I can just say I was on my way here anyway.

Unless you mean talking with them will make things more difficult in the long run.
