STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Chains

"I'll need you to pay what you have up front before I do that for you," the slaver says.

(And outta nowhere!)

"And have you skip out with both the up front payment and the slaves? I don't think so," Wentar replies.

"What? Why the hell would I do that?" the slaver says. "I've got nothing to gain from doing that. If anything, you could skip out with my slaves!"

"How the hell could I skip out with your slaves?" Wentar replies. "Do you intend to shove them on my ship and then be on your merry way, forgetting about payment? In any case, I never asked you to load them onto my ship before payment, just to get them ready for the transfer."

"Right, so you want me do that before you pay me to," he continues.

You aren't going to win this argument this way.

This is going to be one of those 'use the force luke' type of dealies is it?

That is a solution!

Or a less Force more intimidate route available?

I'd be willing to accept a pitch on that.

"Listen buddy, I don't have anymore time to deal with your crap," Wentar says, jabbing a finger at the slaver. "I'm here now, willing to buy all of your slaves and you're prattling on about upfront payment? If you're going to be so difficult with this deal I have a whole list of other names I can go to now."

He brandishes the list of names the Slaver gave him.

"In any case. Do you really want to risk getting mugged for that upfront payment. A smart man would wait for the full payment so he can get away without being hassled by thieves and bashers. Now get those slaves ready and I'll have your money."

5 Charisma, 2 Intimidate, +3 Presence. Pool of 10

(Can Vlad be all intimidatey at the same time to give some fancy bonus?)

It is intimidating to go to other slavers that gets him.

"Alright, alright, no need to threaten me," he says. "You drive a hard bargain. Fine, I'll get them ready for you. If you don't pay up when you get them you'll be sorry."

"Fair enough," Wentar says with a nod.

Alrighty, do I need to set specific time to meet with him or will it be the convenient time of plot?

Plot will do! Having bargained him down, you can let him know where your ship is and when to deliver the slaves.

Now... what is your next step? To remind you of the situation- your Master needs rescuing, the villainous smuggler Hanza is here, and you have to figure out how you're getting out of here. This will need preparation...

Indeed! I recall that having Vlad infiltrate the pirates thugs was an option but I'm unsure if he's around for that so I'll have to think up a different strategy.

Luckily Wentar does have a formidable social skill set and force abilities that are great at 'persuading' people so perhaps hoodwinking any high profile thugs into letting us by is an option.

I'll need some time to think more on this but I get the feeling we'll need to pay a visit to the bridge soon enough. I also sorta want to poke around the maintainable area to find out what Altar was up to, but I doubt I will find anything there. I have a feeling he was either looking into what Loj is up to with the Station upgrades or he was following a lead on Farl's attackers.

I will get back to you soon!

I will need to talk with Vlad soon about this. He's integral to the plot.

Should I send him a PM to see if he's still around?

We will have to move on without him, I think. As compensation, I will be very liberal with hint-dropping for your next step, and Vlad will still fight alongside you if it comes to that.

Hmmm, I think I'm going to start with figuring out the escape route. I should start with looking at if they have any way of disabling the Free Flier, preventing me from taking off, etc. To the Docking bay!

Good thing to check for! How's your Observation?

Oh you know Wentar, about as observant as a deaf bat.

Perception 3+Observation 1. So 4.
