STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Chains

"Explain yourself, boy, how can you help them?" Darcil asks.

"There's something of an uprising going on," Wentar starts to explains. "The man in charge of the place, Loj'oon, has decided enough is enough and kicking everyone off the station except for his men and the slaves. He intends to free them for he was once a slave himself."

He has been planning this for a long time but didn't have the right chance to spring it. Myself and Vlad's arrival changed those circumstances. There is an issue however, the Srum intend to retaliate. We need the militia of the Sentient Rights Committee to help us fend them off until we can escape."

"You trust this man?" Darcil says crossly. "It could be a trap! He could be trying to lure what resources we have into a battle in his favor. Did you think of that?"

"Is this Loj'oon trustworthy?" Windu asks.

"I trust him, he seems... different to what one would expect from a 'pirate lord'," Wentar says. "The way he's done things here, it just doesn't feel false.

"He told me he's been donating large amounts of taxed credits to various anti-slavery movements anonymously and it's considered public knowledge on this station that he isn't a fan of slavery. Knowing that I see no reason why he'd bother putting any effort into crippling the Committee."

Darcil remains wary and says he will have to take it to the Committee for discussion.

"That must be done whether I agree with you or not," Darcil says. "The political process must be carried out or there would be no point in the Committee at all."

"If the Committee comes to an agreement to send forces to assist the Seat," Windu says, "I will accompany them."

Hmmm, does Wentar have a way for Darcil to contact him when they've come to a decision? Or will Wentar just have to randomly call back after xx amount of time.

Darcil will be able to communicate with the Seat now, as long as nothing interferes.

Kay!

"I understand, Senator," Wentar says to Darcil. "I hope the Committee comes to a decision soon. I am unsure how much time we have before the Srum retaliates."

To Windu he says. "Thank you Master Windu. I am also happy to inform you that Altar Vynn is alive and well and here with me now."

Darcil signs out.

"That is good news," Windu says. "Make sure that remains so until our arrival."

Windu signs out.

Now, all that remains is to plan! Loj'oon is setting up his "war room" on the bridge.

If there is time Wentar would like to see how Emso is faring. Is he still out of it?

Emso is coming around but needs to stay in bed. He is currently sleeping.

Alright, Wentar will proceed to the War Room then, to see what Loj'oon is planning.

Altar and Vlad are already there. Loj'oon is figuring out the manpower, equipment, and areas that he has to work with on a holographic display on the bridge. Some of his men are positioning things on the board while they watch and running around the bridge checking control panels. They look up when you enter.

"What news from Coruscant?" Loj'oon asks.

"Senator Darcil will bring the matter up to the Sentient Rights Committee, they will decide if they should send aid or not. He will contact us when they have made a decision," Wentar says.

"Also, if the Committee does agree send aid, Jedi Master Windu will be accompanying the Committee's forces."

Loj'oon is most pleased with this.

"I do wish they'd hurry up," Loj'oon says.

"Master Windu, here?" Vlad asks.

"Indeed, I was pretty surprised when he said it," Wentar says. "But it certainly is comforting to know he shall be here if the Committee agrees."

"Unfortunately we can't speed the process, Loj'oon. Admittedly Senator Darcil believe this may be a trap to lure in and destroy the Committee's resources."

Loj'oon shakes his head.

"I understand his position," Loj'oon says. "I hope that will not affect the Committee's decision."

"I'll go help organize the arming of the slaves," Vlad says. Altar looks after him before returning his attention to the holographic table.

-

Loj'oon is ready to tell you his battle plan.

His first concern is that you have very few ships.

The Seat of Srum has an intense missile defense system, bolstered by countless turbolaser batteries and a pair of powerful shield generators. However, Loj'oon finds it to be a very real possibility that the Srum will be able to knock out the shield generators using stunt fighters and can clear some of the defense towers from there.

"Once that happens, they can dock," Loj'oon says.

From there, it will be a matter of holding the pirates until the Committee's forces arrive to engage the pirate ships or until the Seat's engines and hyperdrive are ready for use. Aside from the Jedi and Loj'oon's personal guards, the majority of your fighting force will be the freed slaves.

"I'm not sure how well they will do against experienced pirates and slavers," Loj'oon says. "We will want to hold off their boarding ships as long as possible."

"What numbers do we have here, Loj'oon?" Wentar asks. "How many ships do we have?"

Wentar will also suggest that Loj'oon's personal guards and perhaps Vlad or Altar begin instructing some of the freed slaves in some basic combat.

There a dozen fighters with capable pilots. Loj'oon has his personal starfighter. And, of course, the Free Flier.

Loj'oon's personal guard number about fifty.

Of slaves, the count of combat-able men is still being done. Loj'oon intends to keep those unable to fight- too young, too old, no experience, and so on- protected in the Market, away from the fighting.

"The pirates will have to enter through the hangars," Loj'oon says. "So long as we hold them there, our non-combatants will be safe."

"We will also need to keep the pirates away from the engines," Altar points out.

Loj'oon rubs his scalp. "I am not sure about stationing our forces down there. It may arouse suspicion in the enemy that there is something worth protecting down there. As far as they know, the engines don't work and are not close to being repaired."

"Hmm," Altar says.

Wentar agrees with Loj'oon decision to keep the unable to fight in the market area.

"Are there any quick ways to the engine rooms from this level?" Wentar asks. "Perhaps we set up a team to be ready to move to the engine room if they report any trouble."
