STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Chains

"Allow me to share with you my declaration.

"As I am sure you are aware, I was once a slave. I have worked my way up to where I am with this always in my mind. I have never forgotten my beginnings, and everything I have done has been based on this."

The Rodian gestures to the Market.

"All of this black market trading? I tax it. That money is anonymously donated into anti-slavery movements across the Galaxy. And I have donated generously, at great risk to myself. But it hasn't been enough. Nobody has been able to shut down the slave trading operation here on the Seat. I have regrettably had to silence many Republic agents who found their way here, so weak were their efforts to undo what the Srum have created.

"But now the Jedi have been sent.... the sign I was waiting for to set into motion the plan I have been crafting this whole time."

"That's... that's amazing," Wentar says. "To risk so much for the sake of all those slaves. I assume then you were already aware of my attempt to purchase and free the Trikistani slaves on this station?"

Loj'oon nods.

"Unfortunately, I couldn't just let them go," Loj'oon says. "There are two reasons for that. The first you will understand. The second you may not like."

"Oh? What are they?" Wentar asks.

"The first- it was not time yet to reveal my plan. Letting them go would have revealed me.

"The second- we need them. We need all the slaves here."

"Why exactly do we need the slaves here?" Wentar asks. "Wait... I did hear a rumor that you were trying to get this space station moving again. Does that have anything to do with this?"

"You're a smart man, Wentar," Loj'oon says.

"Do you need the slaves to help repair the engine?" Altar says. "A cheap labor force to..."

"No," Loj'oon says. "I need them to protect the station. My men are loyal but their numbers are not great. Not compared to the numbers that the Kylugo Srum command. And those numbers will come here. To my station."

"How close are you to having the station moving again?" Altar asks. "I saw that work had been done when I infiltrated the engine room."

"Close," Loj'oon says. "Not close enough to not be here when the Srum send their fighters and boarding parties."

"Is there anything we can do to help speed up repairs?" Wentar asks.

"No," Loj'oon says. "I have several expert mechanics working on it now. One or two more would not change anything."

"So were do you intend to go once the station is operational?"

Loj'oon taps a finger to his mouth.

"That will remain untold for now."

"I suppose it's better to make sure we get away safe before working out where we're going," Wentar admits. "You said you're expecting trouble. How can we help there?"

EDIT! I recalled Vlad having a vision on an attack against the Seat, though at the time I had no idea how it'd come about... Apparently it explodes. That's bad. Wentar would like caution here, perhaps even personally inspect the engines for any tampering.

"Aside from helping lead the fight against the Srum?" Loj'oon says. "There is one thing. I want you to contact the Republic and request assistance from the Sentient Rights Committee."

You already know about that, obviously. And they do have a volunteer-based militia! Not sizeable enough to fight a full-scale galactic war, of course. They could certainly take on pirates, though!

"Hopefully they will have their leadership issues sorted by now, what with Sentator Farl's death," Wentar says. "Where can I contact them from?"

Is there any merit to contacting the Jedi council too? To update them on what is going on here?

If you so wish! Vlad has a direct line to Mace Windu.

"The Seat has a very strong comm system," Loj'oon says. "Impossible to detect or trace. Be sure to give them our coordinates but only if they agree to send help."

"I would also like to contact the Jedi Council, if that is no issue," Wentar says, deciding to keep things open between him and Loj'oon. "It might be best to have them aware of what is going on here."

Loj'oon agrees with that.

"Make your calls," Loj'oon says. "I must attend to the organization of my station."

Rather conveniently, you can get Chairman of the Committee Senator Darcil and Jedi Master Windu on call simultaneously.

"What is the meaning of this, Wentar?" Darcil asks. "It is four o'clock in the morning on Coruscant and I have a project with the Committee tomorrow..."

Windu simply waits to hear what is said.

"It's a rather complicated situation Senator," Wentar says, feeling he should appeal more to the Senator then Master Windu right now. "To get to the main point, I am currently in position to help free every slave aboard the Seat of the Srum. But I need your help."

"The What of Who?" Darcil asks, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"The Seat of Srum," Windu explains. "One of the headquarters of the Kylugo Srum slavers."

"Ah." Darcil pauses for a moment. "How the bloody hell did you get there?!"

"It's a long story," Wentar says, suddenly recalling the required secrecy of Senator Farl's illegal activities. "I was tracking down a missing Jedi, his trail led us to the Seat."
