STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Chains

Between his shooting, the engineers yelling, and the thrum of the engines, there is no way he could hear you. Hanza continues his relentless blasting as he strides arrogantly across the walkway.

It would take you 3 points. It's a long way down.

Thankfully, you have found Vlad! He just dropped down from the walkway above Hanza, having hid himself behind one of the engines. Hanza is too consumed by his task to notice the Jedi sneaking up behind him, and Vlad full-on punches him in the back of the head, for 8 damage.

Hanza (G9): 1/8 [CC GS DW]

Vlad (C8): 2(1A)/0 [SF DW BGu] [PS CH] (5F)

How long would it take me to get down far enough that it'd only cost me 2 points?

-

Wentar breathes a sigh of relief when he sees Vlad arrive on the scene. Looks like we have one big reunion going on here.

Depends on your roll!

Ah! Guess I'll have to cross my fingers and hope for the best on my Agi roll. Don't really want to spend that many force points in one go.

With that, Wentar jumps off of the platform and starts his descent! Five successes is a great start as he gathers speed...

Below, Hanza recovers from the surprise blow and turns his gun on Vlad. He taps 10,000 Bolts in an attempt to blast Vlad to pieces quickly. He completely fluffs his roll when Vlad taps Dodge & Weave and Street Fighting.

Vlad impressively jumps up and uses the side of his foot to shove Hanza's gun aside, so that all of his shots go completely wide. He then kicks Hanza in the face, and follows that by dropping low to the ground and sweeping the smuggler's feet out from under him.

Man, Vlad's kicking ass down there.

Wentar will continue to climb down, feeling a little foolish that he's still stuck up here.

Let me know as soon as the Force Point cost drops to 2.

You are on form with another four successes! Perhaps Wentar is a secret athlete...

Mind you, spending on Great Leap will not get you there faster; it will just get you there without being harmed by the fall.

Vlad now activates his lightsabers with a distinct snap-hiss! as Hanza springs back to his feet. Much to Hanza's frustration, Vlad takes a swipe at him for 11 damage, then springs up upward onto the walkway above him and out of reach. Hanza is forced to spend his turn firing up through the walkway, spending a Fortune point on 10,000 Bolts to refresh it and blast away at Vlad.

He rolls better this time, but with the walkway in his way and Vlad deflecting anything coming at him, it is only 6 damage total.

Ronin by day, Athlete by night?

Oh right! So may as well just make the Agi rolls for now... Although falling and breaking my leg at this point would suck pretty hard.

At this rate Hanza will be dealt with by the time I get down there. 😛 Unless Nelgrin suddenly shows up again... that would be bad.

Your roll is not that great this time... one success.

Vlad drops down from the walkway, his blades flashing. He spends a point on Flurry as he descends on Hanza, tapping Charge for extra dice. Unfortunately, Hanza taps Duck, and the whole maneuver is off as Hanza gets clear.

Hanza then lunges back in with a Martial Artist tap, delivering a karate chop to Vlad's neck that causes him to step back for a second.

Hanza then blows some more Fortune into refreshing Duck immediately.

Bahhhhh, jinxed it. 😛

I assume that if I roll no successes I fall and hit the ground?

If you roll none, at this point, you botch your landing and get seriously hurt.

Great Leap can be used as a bailout when you reach the appropriate distance.

Very well! Lets keep these rolls coming, I'm confident I'll at least get one success each go.

Three successes this time! You're falling quite fast now, and will have to spend a point on Great Leap to land safely next turn.

Vlad comes at Hanza again, scoring six successes for 12 damage to the smuggler. He taps Perfect Strike when Hanza comes at him with another 10,000 Bolts tap. It doesn't save him entirely- he takes 9 damage in turn.

As Wentar realizes he is falling too fast he pushes his legs out against a nearby pipe, shifting his momentum forward in a flip towards the fight. As he descends he calms himself, calling upon the Force to slow his fall and cushion his landing.

-

Spending the point on Great Leap.

There is no way Hanza is getting out of this one.

2-5 gives Hanza the initiative, and it's a Refresh!

This time, he jumps and tries to deliver a solid kick on Vlad. Vlad taps Balanced Guard, so things don't look great for Hanza's roll... but he manages a hit, showing a success on one of his two dice. He taps Flying Attack in his hit and racks up 7 damage as he kicks Vlad back into the railing.

Vlad retaliates with a series of simple slashes, but Hanza taps Duck for good measure. He is totally missed this time.

Wentar has touched down and can join the fight! Feel free to submit how you want your schticks arranged.

As Wentar lands into the battle scene he immediately activates his lightsaber and moves to cover his ally, Vlad.

"Surrender now, Hanza! You're out numbered and out matched," Wentar orders, holding his lightsaber with confidence.

-

Focused Guard, Bodyguard and Block active please.

Wentar will immediately move into BG range for Vlad regardless of initiative.

Hanza realizes things are a little less to his liking, this time. Initiative is evens, meaning this time initiative goes to Hanza.

Except Vlad taps Charge again and acts first! He takes a swipe at Hanza for 10 damage, then has to back-step as Hanza unleashes yet another 10,000 Bolts tap at him. Hanza pulls down on a lever where the hammer would be on a revolver and sprays rapidly in Vlad's direction before you can get to him.

Vlad spends a point on Evade, but still takes 11 damage for his troubles.

You then move to Vlad's defense, smacking away the last of the bolts from Hanza's volley.

"Drop the gun NOW, Hanza!" Wentar demands as he knocks away a stray blaster bolt.

He slices at Hanza to show how serious his situation is.

-

Simple attack, Focused on Hanza, BG on Vlad.

Can I tell how Vlad's going, mentally? Is he still full of anger from before?

Initiative is Evens again, and while you move to confront Hanza yourself, Vlad flips up and over the smuggler and lands behind him. As Hanza turns to shoot him, Vlad takes off his arm just below the elbow and kicks him in the chest, knocking him down on the walkway.

Vlad is certainly still angrily, and now places one foot on Hanza's throat.

Wentar slowly advances on Hanza, but keeps a wary eye on Vlad.

"Was all this violence really worth it?" Wentar asks aloud, shaking his head with a sigh.

"You're finished, Hanza, I'm sure Loj'oon has lots of questions and maybe even nice cell for you if you cooperate... Come on Vlad, let's get him up to the Bridge."
