I feel like they aren't going to want to let us go get them.

-

Also- Mithlond, might want to also play an angle that if Kara Katai is actually storing things here (which is unlikely), that you will prove her criminal activity and get that vault opened since they don't deal with criminals. Just a thought. 🙂

Nice idea, Brit. Mith, your call. I'm going to try to break off.

...anyway.

....

"Listen. Whatever is decided here, it sounds like we may be staying a while on your planet to ensure that we can bring Katai to justice. I'm sure you can handle things from here," I nod at Iffa. "If you'll excuse me, sirs, I'm going to procure lodging for us and contact the Jedi Council to inform them of our whereabouts. Iffa here is my acting superior, so I shouldn't be needed to finalize the details of our involvement."

I begin to walk away after the appropriate formalities. Ush, can I slip my communicator frequency into the pocket of the guard I winked at earlier? The cute one (I hope).

Perhaps one of the Ladies of the Assembly could get it, someone that Thea and Aquila can approve of for neutrality?

Or perhzps one of each? Could be that they wouls set up a quick ambush or something... But perhaps an active comlink would solve that? I mean, so that everyone could listen in on what's going on?

(Well, go ahead and bring it up Jelena. I'm sure there's a way to get the info. Maybe the records can just be transmitted directly? Of like Galagher said, they can pick a fairly neutral courrier. Or Thea and Aquilla can each send one person or whatever. Let's try something before Ush decides the Zarri get impatient and just start shooting us.)

"Forgive me, Master Jedi," says the liaison to you, Iffa, "but that sort of thing is very easily said. The truth of the matter may be very different. We're very confident about our reputation."

The wasp-creature buzzes urgently when you talk, Tilulla, and the liaison speaks again.

"You will have to stay away from all the vaults of course, Master Jedi," he says. "Obviously it is not legal to be near them without accompaniment."

-

I'l give the Thalos Jedi one more day!

Yea, I'm with Andro, Bring it up and we can figure out how to go retrieve them.
We should get both logs though, our ships and the Towers so we can compare them against each other.
To get them, perhaps one of us could go with a lady and some other neutral representation? I would like for one of us to go if possible to keep an eye on things.

"Of course. You have nothing to worry about."

I head for their equivalent of a strip district. Bars, taverns, places of ill-repute. Probably the best place to conduct my non-official business. And the best place to search for Katai.

*rimshot*

"And such responses have been given by the other worlds and organisations she has robbed from." Iffa is blunt. "she is HIGHLY dangerous. We are here with th full weight of the Jedi Council. Whatever legal restrictions you place on yourselves I suggest you find ways to find this woman before she can do damage to your organisation. The best defence is to be proactive."

Jelena will recommend that to the Assembly, then.

"We declared who we were when we arrived and were fired upon," Jelena states. "I submit to the Assembly that you should have our ship logs checked, and those of the control tower we contacted. I recommend that a neutral faction amongst you does this, while we observe. It will prove our peaceful intentions."

Vera-Kin will even volunteer to escort whomever is sent to retrieve these recordings.

Well, it's no good if one of you guys get it.

But Thea immediately proposes to the assembly that all relevant logs are recovered immediately. She says Ladies in the Assembly should supervise the recovery, not anyone aligned to Thea or Aquila.

And it looks like the mood of the assembly is with you!

"If you can give us any idea at all of where she is going to strike, Master Jedi," says the liaison, "we could help you. As it is, you haven't brought us anything useful. We'll keep an eye out for this woman. There is nothing else to be done."

Tilulla, it doesn't take you long to find that this city is rubbish, socially. It's virtually ALL vaults- with living spaces on the outside. There's not a bar to be found. Apparently... the locals don't actually drink.

Iffa would like to contact Master Fisto for advice. Does the council, or the archives, have any additional info on this place?

Fisto will talk along the same lines that Tobin was earlier, except more directly.

He tells you that the Council are almost certain that Telania is filled to the brim with illegal holdings. Their largest customers, after all, are the Hutts. Criminal enterprises of all sorts use it as a place to safely store the most incredibly illegal things, and due to their privacy laws no-one can ever check on it without direct evidence.

"Remember this, my friend," says Fisto. "If they let you look at the contents of those vaults, you could probably have half of them arrested and destroy half their business. And then their criminal backers would hunt down the remaining half for letting you take a look. So they will do [i[]absolutely anything[/i] to stop you looking in those vaults. They would much rather one was raided!

"So you have several routes. You could try and get search warrants- but whether it would work or not is irrelevant; you have not the time. You could try and force the matter, but that might cause more problems than it solves. You could try and convince them to be more helpful, but the pressures upon them are very strong. You could keep searching for Katai, but they are at least correct that trying to find her anywhere on the planet is impractical.

"But if you cannot find Katai... try and work out where she is going. She will have to make her move quietly which likely takes her time. One advantage you have is, even if they insist on escort, the authorities will let you go wherever you like. Get to where she is going before she does.."

"Thank you Master," says Iffa. "I shall meditate on that and try and determine where she might be. The trouble is, no-one knows what's in the vaults, not even the authorities."

"They know, but they won't tell you. But nor will they ignore what you say; if they thought they knew what she was after, they would look for her there. You ave said ancient artefacts; ether they have none at all or too many to check. You'll need to narrow it down somehow."

"can you remind me of the other artefacts she has stolen?"

Hm. I don't suppose I got a call from my guard yet, eh?

What else do we have then? Inns, shops, etc.? I suppose it will be a relief to Iffa, but I was looking forward to a tavern brawl or somesuch. Where can I go to shake information out of people...

Iffa, I could be the one to proactively investigate departures, though that may be your next move as well. If she knows when the hit is going down, chances are she'll have booked passage offworld already.

Good thinking Ti - perhaps check departure logs?

Sorry, Tilulla, but you don't have Seduction.

-

He'll remind you Iffa that they don't know what she stole as she always blows everything up.

Tilulla- really, this planet is intensely boring. These insectoids must have no social life at all, or if it is it is in some alien fashion within their hives that you cannot fathom (or get into without being able to fly).

She wasn't in under the same name she arrived as from Mebark; if she is booked on departures it won't be the same name so you have no way of tracking that.

Any further plans from the Thalos Jedi before we see what pans out?
