They draw in now the triangles Vera saw. Elongated triangles. Close around the planet.

"Starships," Vera-Kin says, coldly. "You are concerned that it indicates invasion and death... but it could also simply mean the end of isolation and change."

Jelena is not sure what to make of her sudden discomfort, wondering to herself if she has felt this way before.

Well, so far you've just re-stated what they've been endlessly debating...

"Is there concern that this will come from the Republic?" Xeth asks.

That is A concern, obviously.

"The Republic does not have a standing military body," Jelena says in response to Xeth, "let alone battleships of that shape."

"Hmmmm," Vera-Kin says, suddenly quite grumpy. "What other theories have come forward as part of this discussion?"

All kinds, from inter-galactic invaders to the return of Men.

But it doesn't really matter at all what it is. What matters is what they do to prepare.

And hence the symbol being the focus, which they now add on. You now have what the symbol looks like and what it means, which you would not have got if you had left when otherwise you would. This fulfils Vera's vision.

Vera-Kin stares hard at the symbol for a moment, then up to the Assembly.

"Whatever this means and however you prepare," Vera-Kin says, "I personally pledge that I will help in any way that I can. May I keep this?"

She shakes the piece of old parchment.

That's appreciated- but you won't be around!

The only appreciable thing is how they react. Does this foretell a threat that must be defended against or an opportunity hat must be embraced?

Are there any voices in the Assembly that say this could be both?

No.

"You must not live in fear of THIS," Vera-Kin says, shaking the parchment again. "To live in fear of your future is to take the path that Aquila chose; she prepared militarily for invasion, but she lost her way and is descending into darkness. That is not Harmony. Certainly it does not hurt that Thalos has a strong military. But I would choose to see this as an opportunity to be embraced, a positive future.

"Otherwise, you will have leaders like Aquila, who come to abuse power and make the populace of your world suffer."

Jelena rather plainly does not agree with Master Vera-Kin, though she does not say it just yet.

Well lets have a bit of think-y time.
The starships being triangles seem to be Star Destroyers. Which would mean attack on Thaos yes, but in the future. Now this could very well be true as the Empire would want to wipe out all force wielding people.

Our Jedi don't know that though.

Haha, well, I know where Vera stands!
