I understand that we have to see the area where we want to use the force, but what about distraction for the guards guarding the gate on our side?

Ok how exactly did Kuylen get into Red again?

You don't know what he did in detail as no-one who went with him is still here.

Trying to affect a multitude of people with the Force is very hard.

Well, Gallador could affect guards with Illusion if he spent force point, right?

Sure, but you'll need a good roll.

As dark siders do we all have intimidate? As we are mounting our attack can we use this to put fear into the guards in order to give us an advantage with the initiative roll?

Most do. Your class type is generally good at it as you look the part to be menacing if needed, being very fit.

But being scared will result in inefficient tactical behaviour on their part rather than a numbers/rules advantage. With you guys being badly outnumbered, that's still handy. In fact, good tactics and teamwork on your side is the only way to win this, lacking your normal lightsabre trump card.

I'll just simplify one part of the equation.

The only way for you to force the gate open is by a large Force point expenditure using Master Lift, preferably from someone with a high Force rating. You don't have any other options there, really.

But there are better ways than forcing it.

We do have a guaranteed way out of Datura...we could probably (quietly) use that as a bargaining chip.

Unfortunately, the anti-Force powers thing overrides any persuasion you can offer; no-one guarding Red will even talk to you.

Well, they must open the door to change the guards, yes?

If we were to assault the gate when they open it to change the guard, would they just close it before we could get through?

They'd certainly try. It is pretty slow to close though.

Then that is our way in. Fight through before they can close the door.

How much of what Galder asked for can we actually get? Relle wants armor. How does carrying a shield affect fighting? I want to bash someone with one.

Well you may be quick, but you likely won't be THAT quick.

I haven't made the rolls for that stuff yet! Armour provides protection but lowers your pool.

What if the strong force users hold the door open while we fight through?

That won't be easy and they'll need to constantly sustain a Master Lift action; it won't require additional Force expenditure but it will need good rolls and for them not to be molested.

Might be possible. Only if we take out ranged fighters and keep them hanging back.

I like the sound of that. It'd be a matter of making sure Rand and Azarl don't get hit... but probably not our best bet.

No chance we could start a fight and they'd send for reinforcements and open the door? Or that we could spare one of them and get them to open it?

It only opens from the inside, remember? They would have little incentive to reinforce mid-fight.
