"Oh, you would bring that up, wouldn't you..." Rianna hisses with fury. "But things are a bit different now. I have the advantage unarmed, while you are hopeless without a lightsaber. And my abilities have only gotten stronger, while you have only fallen, Rand. You are a cripple, weakened by your own poor decisions."
To punctuate her point, Rianna lashes out at Rand with the Force, using Combat Push to try and shove him back.
The situation is: Rand et al are pulling the "Do as I say or you aren't coming up with us" contingency.
You therefore do as they say or lose your character. If you kill the likes of Rand and Azarl, you're equally stuck so any threats from you are meaningless also.
If you think it is a bad move long term, then that will have to be played out in that long term.
"You just need to make the threat," Kai says to you quietly, Rand. "No need for the flashy display. Rubbing it in doesn't help. You only need to make an example if you've been failed or betrayed."
Rand decides to put Xavier down to ease tensions, knowing that everyone will see reason and do as Rand says.
"There is no need for anyone to die or be cast out," Rand says as he drops Xavier a short distance onto the tunnel floor. "All I ask is that I be allowed to examine the stone and that my orders be followed."
Rand is enjoying watching the Psycho Brigade squirm and argue with themselves for once, rather than opposing him.
Such POWER, Rand thinks to himself.
"I really must thank you, Kai," Rand says in return. "It had not occured to me the advantageous position I am in. Now, perhaps, we can actually proceed in cracking open the way on to Red and be done with this aimless show."
"You're welcome," he says. "You guys have all been asking the wrong question, you know," says Kai. "I keep hearing- how can we get through the door? What fantastic ideas have I got for getting through the door? I don't have any. If I did, I'd have been through already. The door is a brute force job; that's why I need to be with you guys. But that's really not the problem."
