"Why not?" Galder asks.

"Propably, because it would mean war with the other leaders, as they fear us too much."

Exactly so!

"As soon as word that you are sheltering here reaches the others, they will come to destroy me, and I am not taking my chances against both other groups for your sakes. No offence."

"As soon as word that you are sheltering here reaches the others, they will come to destroy me, and I am not taking my chances against both other groups for your sakes. No offence."

"Hmm, have you considered a chance to win against them, with us on our side? You saw what Kuylen did, and there much more of us."

"And you are nearly all half dead, so... no, not really."

"Is there somewhere safe that we could hide out on the Red while we rest?" Galder says. "Or should we high-tail it back to Green once we've gotten whatever it is we've come for up here?"

Once that question is answered, Galder will go look at Kuylen's things and leave the others to talk to Kayda.

Our goal up here should be gathering supplies. Armor, improved weapons and blasters, medical supplies to heal with, a means of breathing once we're down to Black, and so on.

Yeah, if we could patch up some...

And there's something up here on Red we have to find.

Kayda tells you there's no safety anywhere on Red. You can stay the night- but that's it.

He doesn't think you'll be safe on green either- after what you've done, they'll come down to green after you. You must have killed a good third of all the fighters they have... but you aren't in a position to do it twice more.

As for supplies-

Guns: No, Far too rare; he's not letting you have any. He has six and he needs them all.

Armour- likewise.

Medical supplies- They have very little of sophistication. He'll let you have enough bandages etc. to be able to get double your pools on a Medicine use.

As for breathing though- there he thinks you have options.

"Kulyen might have been nuts, but he wasn't stupid. At least not in that way."

Figures.

"Really? Tell me more," Galder says.

"Hang on..." he says, fishing around the detritus of his office. "There was a stray around here... ah..."

He picks up a black metal cylinder.

"The mining equipment here made heavy use of pressurised gasses. The maintenance schedule was lousy, so when the cylinders were used up they tended to just get dumped. Scavenge around and you'll find empties all over."

"I'm guessing they could be reused but filled with air," Galder says.

Could Orikan improve the blasters we have?

Relle is disappointed that they have no supplies for fixing up the blasters so that won't explode in our faces.

Kayda gestures out the doorway, as another dull thump! sounds.

"This is the air processing plant," says Kayda. "Kuylen thought it prudent to occupy it. I won't pretend it's an efficient solution; neither the cylinders nor the air intakes are designed for this purpose. But carry enough and it is better than nothing. And Kuylen said another one of your fancy tricks was being able to hold your breath for rather a long time."

-

"Arrrr..." says Orikan. "The gas in these things be unstable. Best I could do is make it expel the dangerous excess, but fire that piece too much and that won't help, damn your eyes..."

"Some improvement is better than nothing, Orikan"

It would require not firing the weapon two turns in a row, and would reduce its lifespan.

Does Kayda has access to any maps of the areas leading to black?

Also, what does he think of Kai?

"Yeah, that we can do," Galder says. "Looks like we'll be stockpiling on spent canisters then."

Galder thinks for a moment.

"Why didn't you just kill us like the other gangs want to?" Galder asks. "And did Kuylen ever say anything about... well, more people like him?"

He shrugs as to why not kill you. "Curious, I suppose," he says. "And I doubted you did all this just to kill me."

He says that Kai is a snake; far more dangerous than the improvised blasters they build. As for routes to black- you're out of luck there, because they are all in blue, which is to say no-one ever goes down to black, so no-one knows the way.

"Just keep going down, I guess," he says.

No, Kuylen didn't say much about anything. He mostly brooded or planned (after his initial displays of extreme violence to get respect).

He asks if you are serious about going down to black.
