I will not pause the game to get that info. If I do not have it at the point where you need it, I will assume you squabble over it and get jumped in the meantime. Onus is on you to sort it.

Please bear in mind that your journey to black is going to be harsh and unforgiving and I am giving advance notice here that I will kill people in it if I feel they deserve it- and you guys are pretty beat up. There may no going back for downed people; lugging bodies around is not practical.

Are all the encumbered people happy about the likely constant attack/defence penalties they will get? It will be the default, not the exception!

I think we're just gonna have to grin and bear it. We'll lose the encumbrance as we use oxygen and equipment anyway.

Ok folks- you... are going to die. You're overburdened and are leading badly needed equipment behind. Those combat penalties WILL kill people trying to fight down there, and also blow through far too much oxygen.

I'll tell you the glaringly obvious thing you missed- but it means an xp penalty for the story. Too much time has already been wasted to give you the option of choosing.

Give your excess stuff to Ranto. This whole encumbrance scenario is based on being in a low-oxygen environment, and I've shoved the fact that he does not need to breathe right in your faces.

Meanwhile, it's time for you to be off.

Kayda has one other thing he though he might mention to you.

"It's a mad and stupid rumour, of course" says Kayda. "But there was a rumour going around... that black might not be quite as empty as thought. Apparently half the surveyors that went down there never came back. They do tell that something particularly nasty is down there..."

You've also said repeatedly that he's useless!

Give him all of the extra stuff; how much can we physically load him down with? 😛 Because if possible Rianna's shoving her cylinder off on him, then.

I'm trying to think of an order we should go in, but I'm not sure - putting the non-fighters at the back is bad in case we get attacked from behind, but at the same time we'll run into problems if we do put a few fighty people in the back of the line and there's a large attack at the front.

Though on the other hand, the cramped spaces should mean that the number of attackers we would face at once would be pretty limited, right?

You'd think.

What were you told about the trogs though?
