USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE V (DARK SIDE)- The Prisoner of Datura

I talked to Rex and it's probably smarter if I shoot the guards in upper north, where I'm trying to move to, so I will do that instead.

This is heroic effort from Gallador I want enough successes to suceed!

For future reference, that's no good- you don't know how many successes you need.

4-2 keeps initiative with you. Damn good job too as that would have cocked you up else.

Dak goes for a Flurry on Staff A Not an easy shot on a defended target, giving him four dice to roll. He scores two hits for four damage.

A freed-up Rianna goes for the guards. Not always easy to find two next to each other in this fight but in this tighter area she can; two kills are hers! Graff shoots down a third. Relle goes for Pike E! Five successes is 11 damage; not a kill yet.

Two successes from Gallador on a Strength roll gets him close enough to two guards. He rolls 5 successes for a double-kill and five points of mook protection! Xavier muscles through to a target and, it must be said, beats him to death pretty damn well.

Luckily Trogdor is there else Galder's rather vague orders would have left the Epireans killing the crowd,. He brings them back east with the rest of you. Sadly, although the crows out west is not slowing movement that much, there's just about enough to make no clear path for you guys to move and attack in one go there. (I shall assume Rah meant west, though do be careful folks!)

Rah- you can have brought whatever melee weapon you like, if you want to use Combat.

Azarl is the exception to the above as he moved over last turn; he taps Martial Arts on Pikeman P. His roll gives him three successes, which is seven damage; a notable blow but that Pike guy is far from down.

Con gets away north and opens fire on the guards there. Luck is out on one attack though, one success short of a kill.

After a slight revamp of Rura's schticks, which I just noticed were illegal, he and J7 eliminate the last of the firers at them below, happy now that melee cover has arrived for them.

And indeed such cover is here, as the vagueries of initiative means all those foes out west are in position to attack you now. As he seemed to want to, Galder gets the Staff foe whilst the Pikes distribute. The melee commences!

Galder- geez, these staff guys are trained well! He lays into you for an immediate seven damage. You want your damn sabre! The rest of you- few of you are prepared for a melee fight, and those Pikes ignore armour... your Epireans are on the back foot too; they are already shot up and trained melee guys are a match for them. Yout way south is now cut off by enemies and more are koving to seal the way down eastwards...

Rura and J7 stayed out of melee by backing up and letting you guys take the heat, but their grand plan is undermined by the 25 shooters now blazing away at you. 18 actually attack as the rest kill all remaining civilians in the area, their last act having been to slow you guys down. Everyone gets one attack on them, but those not in melee get three more.

Fourteen firers up north splits four each on you three up there with more civilian casualties. Gallador holds his Cleave protection but only just...

At the cases, Rianna and Graff take the wrath of the shooters; Rianna's ward doesn't stop her taking two hits and Graf gets well shot this time as well. Relle is holding pretty well but the impact of Staff A's blow on Dak nearly throws him through one of the cases; he staggers back.

Rura is eyeing the doorway, Galder, which he has very much made sure he has stayed near... the odds near him aren't his style.

Now the crowds are wary of everywhere save east, though south will become an option again for them next turn, most likely.

Rianna's going to lay into another pair of guards, tapping Cleave this time; if we don't get initiative, spend another point on Ward.

Galder will swap IM for DU and tap it.

Galder blocks the next incoming blow from the Staffman then hits him over the head with the electro-mace.

Possible to try to get my lightsaber now, Ush?

Swap in ForGu for BGu and tap it on Staff A, then use Charge to disengage in case he doesn't die.

Relle finishes off Pikeman E with a stab through his heart.

What's the idea behind the disengage, Dak? I am unsure how it helps.

Possible to try to get my lightsaber now, Ush?

Nope! Still too crowded...

In that case, Rand is Flinging Pikeman R off to the South.

"Out of my way!" Rand snarls as he hurls the pikeman forcibly away from him.

A vague hope that I can avoid damage? I dunno, this build has very little in the way of avoiding damage so I'm just tossing anything in that might help. Would I need to move to an empty zone for that idea to actually work?

I am afraid that unless he becomes engaged in turn, your opponent will just move and attack you anyway.

So if Rianna attacks, thus engaging him, and Dak disengages...

That would work just fine.

Well, I was planning on going for the Staff guy next turn anyway (hence tapping Cleave now)...

Would I have to engage now for Dak's plan to work?

Yes you would.

And can I safely disengage from the guards? Since they're not melee...

Well generally actually no, but you aren't actually in melee range of any of them right now; you killed the ones next to you.

Good!

So then, scratch my original plan; instead Rianna will move to attack Staff guy, swapping Cleave for Perfect Strike. Use a point on Ward if they get initiative, and if Riposte would trigger, tap it.
