I just made this, perhaps it'll help a bit with orientation.

Freaky! You even chose the same colour coding as me. Although I think in circles not squares.

Right so as much as Edana would love to stick around in the danger zone to find out what about to go down, she really rather not die so she'll get the hell out of upper east and head down to Middle East (or whatever it is called).

Then I suppose it's bombard again for me on those guards down in ground-west (or ground south if they have already been taken out)

Don't think I can be any more effective I am afraid.

I actually think of it in circles, too...but squares were easier to draw.

I think that means we have great minds.

4-2 switches initiative back to you.

A wary Edana forces her way through the crush, heading downwards. She would be in no position to attack anyone normally, but luckily Force Attacks are immune to the crowd problem, and she gets a clean kill (I forgot to mark off your spent force points before; all done now).

Dak dashes up, with the aid of initiative, to cover Gallador, though again he is not able to get a Cleave so no taps from him; Gallador gets a kill leaving one guard left.

Rianna just scrapes her Agility roll to Dash it down south. Her super-attack roll wasn't going that well until the last five all rolled successes; that's a 15-success Cleave of doom!

Con runs south to the throne and blasts down a guard as planned, whilst Xavier retrieves his sabre and hacks one down.

In the great fight up top... Rand calls his sabre, taps his guard and goes for an attack; 9 successes on his target kills Pike S stone dead, in any way he desires! Azarl likewise calls his to his hand and drives L back, but doesn't quite manage to land the kill blow.

Galder doesn't get the super blow he wanted on his Staff foe but he does land a hit, landing a similar blow on Pike K.

Holding Rah's action!

With the gunners finally under attack from elsewhere, your allies can now turn their attention to you guys. J7 starts by shooting Azarl's opponent dead and Rura decides that Staffmen are best dealt with on the ground, blasting dead the one Galder knocked down last turn. Graf, irritated at still having to fight mooks despite what she said, but wanting to cover Relle, shoots dead the one nearby.

Onto them!

Gallador's Staredown invalidates any attack up north. The guards to the south now have a split issue as they can see two fights- the large one to the west and the people coming at them to their north. They'll re-direct their fire on those killing near them, which is hefty load of fire- 18 firers at Rianna and Con, made 16 but their difficulty firing through the crowd but still a lot of heat and Rianna has dropped her guard.

(You are right- splitting up IS bad if you make small numbers of people targets for large numbers of guards...).

They don't roll that well on Rianna, so her Cleave holds, though 12 points of it gets blown at once.

They don't roll that well on Con either and he only gets hit twice- through that throne isn't going to last long against such firepower!

The good news, of course, is that this stops any of those guards firing into the melee; just the four to the west do that.

Talking of the melee... Rivas' bodyguards arrive! Going to get ugly now... melee attackers divide up, and with you guys surrounded from last turn, no-one can avoid fighting. However, I will rule it is so crowded now by just fighters, instead of the crowd, that Rivas and co will not join the fight until next turn, though those running back up after being knocked down can.

Galder takes a hit, completely ignoring his armour. Azarl is hit by one Pikeman- but disarms the other, slicing his Pike in half! One also manages to cock up an attack on Rah, but with no weapon swap declared I can't call that a disarm. The Staffman against him does not miss.

Rand then sees how powerful going on the defensive against melee attackers can be when you have a sabre, as he promptly destroys the weapons in both his does, his arms moving like they have not for decades.

Trogan, however, gets piked in the stomach and goes down.

At this point, one of Rivas' star defence force fighters crashes through the domed ceiling. The noise drowns out everything, and the burning fighter explodes into Upper-E. The explosion echoes throughout the grand chamber in a blast of heat and death; half of those in the location are killed outright and now a plasma fire is spreading itself over the entire area

Satisfied with his own performance and that Rura is now supporting the fight, Galder will call his lightsabers to him and ignite them dramatically before he starts hacking away at Pikeman K.

Swap SF for Block, use for Defense.

Xavier goes ahead and brings in Perfect Strike for MA.

He will slice down the one remaining guard in his area so as to not leave them behind

Rianna will swap Forward Guard out for Orthodox Guard, and slice down another guard in her area.

Everyone that's not in that mess of a melee should start making their way over to where I am so we can kill off these guards as quickly as possible, and then join the melee ourselves.

Rura is no longer supporting the fight, now under severe Pike attack.

In fact, all your Allies have had to be used poorly this fight; none of them is a great mook killer and they were meant to help with the supers.

Azarl takes advantage of the enormous explosion and the ease with which he strides through battle to sidestep his opponents and go after Pikeman Q, since that one is going after J7. He charges over and slashes Q across the back.

I'd say your situation is more urgent than that, Rianna.

I'd say go for a Dodge & Weave tap, Rianna. It works for Rand and you have a high enough Combat pool that you could probably still kill a guard.

Rand laughs maniacally at his own performance, then tries to stab Pikeman G through the chest with his newly-gained lightsaber.

Swap Orthodox Guard for Focused Guard, use the defensive focus against Pikeman G should he strike back.

Then Rianna will duck back behind the throne for cover, and spend a point on Ward if their attacks would completely blow her Cleave cover. Still swap Forward for Orthodox Guard, though.

Or actually, Rand's idea is good...hmm.

Relle is going to move West with Graf.

"I'll kill the guards, you start worrying about those pikemen!" Relle says. "Leave the butchering to me..."

Relle moves west and cuts down a guard with her lightsaber, hoping to attract some of the attention away from Con and Rianna.

And Con could do the same thing while moving West to get his lightsaber. And then he can circle around South next turn to kill guards with Rianna.

Also, would Rand be able to Fling Rivas into the fire to the East? Just out of curiosity...

Rivas is a big bastard- he's not going to all so easily. And no Fling moves people THAT far anyway.

Oh I forgot something- the four guards out west don't in fact keep firing into the melee as they saw Con! That's an extra hit on him.

EXTREME ADVANCED WARNING FOR RAND!

Rivas is going for you, having noticed that move you pulled.

Okay, this is what I think I'm going to do.

1) Swap Forward Guard for Dodge and Weave.

2) Tap Dodge and Weave for super-defense!

3) Move into cover at the throne; as I'm not attacking, that should also activate Coordination.

Since I'll be damn hard to hit there, cancel the Ward spend.

Rand, be careful, you're about to get your ass handed to you and no one is allowed to go down yet!

Like hell he is!

If we get initiative, Rand is going to Fling Rivas back down the steps and keep him out of the fight. If successful, Rand will keep his Focus on G. If not successful, Focus will be on Rivas.

If they get initiative and Rivas reaches me, Rand will Focus on Rivas and try to parry his blows before Flinging him back down the steps.

Should Gallador join the big fight in upper west now?

You could Bewilder Rivas while Dak kills that last guard!
