Well, that gets you 25% through. Problem is, that still gives you 45 minutes of this type of crap to go. SOMETHING will go wrong...

Could we pick them up from the crowd?

I assuming that would be very difficult to do.

Ush is there anyway they can get deep enough into the line to eventually push themselves past everyone or maybe jump over everyone?

I don't think jumping over people is much of an option...might be a wee bit obvious 😛

Other bit is possible though. Are we committed to just waiting out the line or is it still possible to shove through with Strength+Intrusion?

What I was suggesting was get close enough that you jump over the crowd in one go while we zoom in. I was just wondering how close you guys would have to get for that.

Could they also use Relle Intimidation to help get through or would that not be helpful at all.

The trick is to do it WITHOUT causing a fuss, Xavier, hence the Intrusion.

Yea, i think you guys shouldn't go to the front of the line, you should just hang out in that zone of jumping, that way when we zoom in you guys jump from the croud to the tax-collector. then when the 'zoomers' jump out they flank the taxcollector.

They'll more or less be at the front of the line by the time they are at jumping distance.

They'll have to just rely on Relle's socialness or pushing through.

Ok! Time for those Strength + Intrusion rolls... a mess up here would be a problem...

But everyone passed! And so spidey team shoves their way through the crowd and gets within striking distance of the dais.

Nom- a thin, weedy man- sits upon what is effectively a throne, laughing at the people brought up to him. He is surrounded by armed guards- several of which are carrying force pikes.

The current supplicant is begging before him, crying out this his submission for the year was stolen from him whilst in the queue. Nom strokes his beard, thoughtfully.

"See now that which happens to those that defy the will of Riva!" he decries. He motions to his men. Several head off southwards, towards the exit. Some had into the crowd. Two with pikes step forward and haul the supplicant to his feet.

"A man who cannot see to his own purse, and therefore pay his dues to the mighty Emperor Rivas, has forfeited his right to live" He nods, and as the man screams for mercy, the guards with the pikes run him through. "Take all his assets for our own! His family shall become slaves at the imperial court."

But also being dragged to the dais are two other men- the one before the supplicant who had just paid, and the man just after him.

"But to discourage this kind of behaviour..." he says. Two gunshots rung out, and the men fall dead. "Any man who comes here empty handed shall now cause the deaths of the man before and after him also! That should encourage you all to look for each other..."

This causes a certain amount of panic in the crowd. Nom just laughs.
