Evenstar's bracelet

Started by fini3 pages

sorry undomiel but these guys are right
TO us elves would seem immortal but they can be killed which make them mortal..........if u want a better word they live for a ridiculously long time.......but as nature goes( i assume its the same in middle earth) that once something is born IT WILL DIE.

and as for arwen .........she has the choise to be mortal ( ie live a shorter life than regular elves) to us.
Remember Elrond and his brother ( i forget his name) are half elven and have the choise to live as a long living elf or a long living human.

Can we please cancel this thread!!
ok like I said on the other thread I wrote these things along time ago and i have changed since then. So lets just forget about the old threads and write on the new
ok 🙂

umdomial.. not meaning to burst you're bubble, but elves can die of old age.. as the dewd said up there.. its takes like eons for them to die due to age.. not all elves choose to go to the grey havens.. as you've probably read in other threads abouts elves of eg legolas's breed who feel there is no need to travel to the west... those elves either die of grief or very very very very very OLD age.. they're immortal in a sense that no mortal has ever lived to see an elf die

oh ya and you spelled "dewd" wrong

ok lets all ust be friends alrighty

As already said, the bracelet represents Arwen ("Undómiel"😉, her whole life, which includes also her immortality.

about that immortality thing - they die when the earth dies, but mankind does not; so, as nobody knows where men come after their death, THEY are the ones that are really immortal, being not bound to the circles of earth.
But if you just mean the world as it is seen in the Lord of the Rings and the Sil, elves are immortal (whatever you mean by that word) because they can just die of grief and in war.
But after some thousand years, they usually grow weary of watching all the death in Middle-earth and go to Aman

i understand all of that but how does she plan to give up her mortality? is there like a spell for that.....i dont remember anything in any books ive read......

No its quite strange;
If an elf marries a man he (or she) becomes mortal; not from one second to another, but slowly, no spell or something because theyre to different from each other that doesnt work... shell still look like an elf and all but when aragorn dies shell be so sad and all that she also does..

but she still wont age will she? awww pooh thats not fair lol

dont think shell age as fast as a human but perhaps she looks older because of being unhappy about not being an immortal anymore...

um i think you're wrong. elond is known as elrond halfelven because his brother elros and himself got the choise to become mortal or elven, and elros became mortal (tho he and his kin lived an unnaturally long mortal life) and elrond became an elf. but since they got the choice, so to all their desendants. isnt thta rihgt??

Yes, thats right... but obviously Arwen has chosen to be an elf before (how could she have lived so lond otherwise?), and when she meets Aragorn she decides to be mortal - but that doesnt change from one second to another, but takes a long time.

ok its a necklace not a bracelet

Oops I was a bit absent-minded... sorry 😄

no hunny i didn't spell dewd wrong.. it's look better spelt this way

wait i always thought elves were immortal and could only die of a broken heart or get injured in a battle, even orlando said that, cuz he plays legolas who is a elf and is immortal..these were his exact words (unless he didnt read all the stuff u mentioned) "they can only die of a broken heart or if they get injured in a battle" maybe not in those right words ill have to rewatch that..BUT he said those were the ways that elves could die, i didnt hear him mention old age

BUT...arwen did say she chooses to live a mortal life so she can be with aragorn, so she is gonna age, either that...or..if aragorn dies...she will die of a broken heart...or..if she battles..and gets injured..she will die...but im pretty sure if she were to die in the ROTK, it will be either of old age or a broken heart

either way..she gave aragorn her immortality, and choosed to be mortal

im blabbing...HEHEHE i get so caught up in LOTR!! hahaha

Yah but OB says a lot...
He's right, these are the usual ways for elves to die;
but if they wed a mortal man, they cant really live together cuz the differences are too big.
and if their love dies, they soon die, too, of broken heart.

Arwen gives her immortality to Frodo 😉

arwen gives frodo her immortality? are you being serious? or was a joke? because i thought she gave her immortality to aragorn??

has anyone seen the awesome ring they have on ebay right now, its a elvish love ring from lord of the rings, its soooo beautiful, i love it

I mean, she gives her immortality away BECAUSE of Aragorn, of course;

But she gives Frodo her own "permission" to travel to the Undying Lands.

So, bit yes, bit no 🙂

Nah - where??? Love ring, whats that??
Id love to have that Evenstar... so beautiful... but so expensive 🙁

ok do not call me hunny

Elrond is half elven so that means he has the choice to be either mortal or immortal
so that means Arwen has the choice to be either mortal or immortal

Spoiler:
so she chooses to be mortal
