STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Virus

It will put strain on your jetpack and won't go any faster than walking, with that blaster-wielding deadweight you're dragging around.

Hmmm, true. Let's just run. Ruuuuuuun.

...can we run and shoot at the same time?

Yes! The glory of blasters, there.

What about firing the mini-cannon whilst moving? 😛

If that's not possible, then Rylis is going to swap back to her pistol. If it is, zombies are going to go boom.

Also, CQG should be refreshed now so I'll swap it back in.

Forgot about that. Mini-cannon can be done with Strength checks.

"Run and shoot! Run and shoot!" Rhys dashes away from the zombies while firing wildly, looking for some kind of cover.

We'll mini-cannon it, then.

"Shut up and move!" Rylis says, aiming at zombies and firing at them.

Initiative to you again as you make a break for it! Rhys is runnin' and gunnin' and pops down a zombie. Rylis passes the Strength roll and gets... one kill.

They are keeping up with you.

Ergh. Rylis is changing weapons while continuing to run.

Shoooot them and run.

My bad- though I've been including successes from Gunslinger in Rhys' rolls, I failed to actually represent it. Atop that, it was a Refresh turn! Carnival is refreshed for him.

It did not take long for the zombies to overtake you, as they gain initiative this turn. As a result, any attempts to flee are canceled- it would give them free melee attacks against you. This is bad news for Rhys- before he can get off a decent shot, he is overwhelmed and dragged down. A sensor inside the suit indicates there has been a breach.

In the process of changing weapons, Rylis is caught as well. Not having her pistol out, she has a low Defense against the zombies. However, her armor protects her very well.

Not good...

Any lucky manhole covers nearby?

Rhys is a bit busy to be checking for such things...

Well, does Rylis see any?

Yes... a turn's distance.

...****er.

Rylis is going to snatch Rhys by his suit and fire up her jetpack again, making for the cover. Yeah, won't be going faster than just running, but she probably can't drag him along very quickly that way.

*crosses fingers and hopes for initiative*

Can I shoot while flying and dragging?

Not at all. Using your jetpack at least prevents you getting smashed up by the free round of attacks. Initiative is yours! You grab Rhys and fire up the rocket pack again... passed Piloting roll gets you to the manhole. The zombies close in again and we come out of combat time as they do so.

Rylis has to drop a fleetingly conscious Rhys to get to the manhole and lugs it open with a good Strength test.

You find that the sewers are crawling with zombies.

Rylis is currently swearing profusely in several different languages.

How far from the medical center are we? Since the sewers are apparently not an escape route...

You are moving along the street around the medical center, but you now see that zombies are beginning to come out of the medical center as well, now. And from further down the street. And from out of the manholes. And from everywhere. Your gunplay has drawn them to you, hungry and frothing...

"Why did I ever agree to come to this rock..." Rylis says to herself, looking around to see if there's any possible way of escaping this mess.
