STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Virus

"Yeah, see, sometimes the need for secrecy overrides what I'd normally be tempted to do," Rylis snaps back.

There is a low humming sound that you both register at this point.

Oh, awesome. Can Rylis tell where it's coming from?

The loader droid behind you. It is coming out of 'sleep mode.'

Unusual. I don't think they normally do that on their own.

Rylis is fairly creeped out and lacking patience with this planet at the moment, so she's going to swing her gun around and open fire at the droid.

"Oh, that can't be good... and I'm speaking from experience here." Rhys pulls out his blaster, watching the droid.

When Rylis blasts it, he groans. "Good work. Now it'll be angry."

"Or destroyed," Rylis replies calmly, waiting to see what happens but keeping her blaster aimed at the droid.

The loader droid has already been damaged by whatever happened here, like the others about, so Rylis exploits a crack in its reinforced hypersteel plating when she fires. Four successes in seven damage to the droid as a laser bolt streaks into the crack and sparks violently.

This does not bring it down, however. The loader droid swivels its head- a hemisphere with no neck and a pair of lines etched across the top from which a pair of pinpoint red lights view you. It raises its bulky piston-powered arms and you see quite clearly the splattered blood on the knuckles of its hands, and indeed all over the front of its chassis.

The hum culminates it a smart 'beep-beep' as it becomes operational, taking a lumbering step toward you both...

Schticks please!

Eagle Eye
Carnival of Carnage
Close Quarters Gunman

...which is all of my gun tricks, but yeah 😛

Eagle Eye, Gunslinger, and Close Quarters Gunman.

"See?!" Rhys yells as he fires off a shot, aiming for the same crack Rylis hit.

Combat time!

Rylis and Rhys possess Armor ratings due to their respective suits. Everything else you should be familiar with. The (#F) at the end of your information is to keep track of your Fortune points, which must last you the entire game.

The loader droid is not designed for combat but you cannot imagine it would be pleasant to be hit by its massive piston-driven fists. It has Street Fighter backing up its punching power. Its chassis is also reinforced to prevent damage- not a problem for Eagle Eye.

It is one turn away.

Rhys (G9): 3(in CC only, 1A)/1 [EE GS CG] (3F)

The loader already had a surprising amount of blunt force damage before Rylis went and shot it. Rhys also has a point of damage from his earlier encounter.

More blasting it!

Ditto that, blast the crap out of the thing!

Initiative to you! As it closes, you take your shots. Rhys goes for that exploited crack to bypass its armor, getting three successes. Rylis instead shoots for a joint on its leg, also getting three successes. Twelve damage, all told.

The loader droid has closed the distance and decides to take a jab at Rylis, cocking its arm back and ramming it downward at her. She gets her Defense from CQG and it only scores a success on its lowered pool, for five damage. Its fist smashes into the pavement a bit too close for comfort, Rylis.

Yeah, Rylis doesn't like that much. She's going to use the jetpack for a quick hop to the top of the car wall, firing at the droid again.

Rhys will look for a way to get back up the wall out of range as he keeps up the barrage.

Rylis can multitask just fine with her jetpack, but Rhys would need to focus on climbing instead of take his shot. You would also lose active defense while climbing. Still want to go for it?

Risk the climb!

Initiative roll concludes a draw... meaning it goes to you guys! Oh joy of joys.

For Rhys, it is two turns to climb up the car wall to the top. He gets to climbing. Rylis, on the other hand, zips up and away to the top no problem with help from her handy jetpack, and gets her shot off. Four successes is another seven damage to the loader droid.

The loader droid takes a moment to assess his options, then steps after you. With Rylis out of range, it seems for a moment it is going to squash Rhys... but instead it makes a Strength roll and smashes itself into the speeder wall! It wobbles dangerously but does not go down just yet...

Rylis is going to keep shooting away at the obnoxiously annoying droid, hoping it dies soon.
