STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The White Tower of Halloy

Well, without Lying, you are just making the trooper angry with your made-up sob stories.

Ok. How many credits do I have?

"My business on Halloy involves that tower. I heard it onced belonged to a Sith lord, I was really just interested in getting a closer look at it and finding out it's history first hand."

Describe my upclose surroundings, please.

An unspecified amount. I will let you know what you can afford rather than track it credit by credit.

That is a much better pitch, Denzral; there is some truth to what you say. You pass the Persuade roll.

"Pfft, the Sith were never here," the trooper scoffs, "but you should've just said that to start with instead of wasting my time. Get moving."

I had this feeling that if I had said that, without having ID; he'd say Okay, and take me there and chuck me into a cell or something.

"What is the tower used for now?" Denzral asked before he moved along, motioning to 'Smokey' "C'mon."

"It is where King Evand holds court," the trooper answers curtly before turning to investigate another passenger.

Denzral and his astromech are turned out into the Stad, as the urban area surrounding the White Tower is simply called. Every single structure, from houses to offices, is no more than three stories high, and all are completely white. The cobblestones in the streets are white, and many of the vehicles and outfits worn by the people are white. There is a vast assortment of aliens and people moving through the streets carrying packages and white baskets; it appears to be a market day.

Majestically, the White Tower towers over all of this, pointing toward the sky, the tallest structure in the Stad.

Denzral is free to do as he pleases.

I sould find out about this... King Evand. I'll look for a Tap-Caf or Cantina or something. By the way, is there anything odd about the city? Is it extremely clean?

Actually, despite its white color scheme, the Stad is relatively rundown. Planets this far out usually are.

You can find a cantina easily, one called The Refugee Camp.

I'll go up to the bar and order a drink... will Republic credits work here?

They seem to be alright accepting Republic money.

Okay... I wonder why? Anyway... I'll order a drink at the bar and take a perception check of the environment.

The Refugee Camp is a small place, filled with roughly two dozen patrons. There are some off-duty troopers in a booth, some spacers, but mostly locals.

What about the bartender?

Generic bartender, a bearded man, cleaning glasses between serving patrons.

"What's the local speciality here?" He asked the bartender.

"White Tower Ale, from the King's own brewery," the bartender says. "It is cheap and not very good, but favored by the masses."

"I'll have a Corellian Fire Cider, and one of those Tower ales too just to try it." He asked, then proceeded to sit at the bar. "So whats King Evand like?"

"I knew I pegged you as an off-worlder," the bartender says as he prepares your drinks. "King Evand is a fair and generous man. He keeps strict order here but it works for all."

"So your classic fairy-tale kingdom?" Denz replied. "You don't feel oppressed at all, with such an iron rule?"

"It's needed out here," the bartender says. "We're outside of civilized space and we accept hordes of impoverished refugees every day. If the King weren't strict, the White Tower wouldn't be possible."

"So it is a; uh... 'Shining beacon of hope' for the destitute and impoverished? Sounds like my kind of kingdom." he smiled and accepted the drinks. "What was this place like before King Evand? Was it always this secure here?" He asked as he sipped the Corellian-Fire Cider (I just like Cider lol). "Oh-" his eyes light up, "I'm surprised you have this, it's hard to get among some Republic worlds."
