It is a duel then, as Denzral turns to stand his ground against Lothar.

THE SET-UP: The arrival of Denzral Vassik and his sharing of information about the Cult of Necros with the King of Halloy has forced the hand of Lothar Tull, the "Jedi" that is apparently trying to reinstate the old Cult. Denzral and Lothar are facing off in the natural caverns far beneath Halloy's rocky surface.
HOW THIS WORKS: This is Denzral's first duel in the Retro games, so we'll go over the rules in depth.
Each turn, duellists exchange lightsaber blows, trying to beat their opponent's guard and score a points until that final blow is struck to win the duel. One player is made the attacker, though who the attacker is changes each round.
There are three moves you can make, based upon the three physical stats of Strength, Agility, and Dexterity. You add your rating in chosen stat and apply it to your Lightsaber score, which makes for the final score of your attack.
There are two complications- first, some moves are better than others. Strength gets a bonus against Dexterity, Dexterity against Agility, and Agility against Strength. Said bonus is worth two points. Second, your chosen move has an inbuilt extra power of +0 (Weak), +1 (Normal), or +2 (Strong).
At the start of each duel, each combatant chooses six moves, choosing no more than three of each type. The strength of each hand is randomly determined; there are more weak moves than normal, more normal than strong.
Highest score wins each turn. In the event of a draw, attacker gets the point. First to five wins, so long as they are winning by two clear points. If not, duel continues until that gap is made. Winning by more points can have worse consequences for your opponents.
ANALYSIS: Denzral is a decent swordsman with an even spread of physical abilities. You do not know what Lothar's talents are with a lightsaber, but he is assisted by some corrupted Knights of the Tower. This is not at all an ideal situation for Denzral.
Here is your set!
1 Dexterity (Strong)
1 Strength (Strong)
1 Strength (Weak)
1 Agility (Normal)
1 Agility (Normal)
1 Agility (Weak)
As a reminder, your base Lightsaber score is 9. You then add the stat of the move used (varying for Denzral) and then the move quality. Weak is +0, Normal is +1, and Strong is +2. If your move counters theirs (ex. Agility beats Strength), you get another +2.

Lothar to attack, Denzral to defend.
As the aggressor is Lothar and Denzral is standing his ground, Lothar will strike first! He comes at you with a standard blow to your side.
Too much rides on a Lightsaber duel to go with standard rolling! Plus, it provides a different gameplay feel.
In any case, your lightsabers clash and the duel begins! Denzral tries to force Lothar's slash downward and twist away from a harmless blow, but Lothar manages to angle in such a way that his blow comes a little closer than you wanted.
But Denzral times his twist well and he comes back around for a blow of his own.

Lothar to attack, Denzral to defend.
Lothar takes a few steps back before suddenly lunging forward again for your midsection.
Agility is Denzral at his best- your final score is 15!
You prevent Lothar from running you through, pushing the thrust off to the side. He does not stop, pushing you back with a series of jabs. Nothing comes close but he manages to drive you back on the walkway again.
Lothar is showing himself to be dexterous and passes you by a point again.

Denzral to attack, Lothar to defend.
Lothar, with both hands on his lightsaber, brings it down in a powerful slash to intercept your blade. He tries to pin your blade down and stunt your strike. You exhibit some of your own dexterity and manage to slip the blade free, causing Lothar to pull back again to retain his defenses.
