STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The White Tower of Halloy

Started by REXXXX59 pages

Your dear pal Lothar is still holding it.

You sense her emotions well, for she is making no effort to hide them, nor Lothar to conceal them- she is afraid.

Okay how many Knights are there around Denz? And what are they armed with?

There are four in the immediate area, and Crutch. The Knights carry heavy rifles, and Crutch carries his scoped rifle.

Okay Denz'll call the lightsabre to himself and attempt to cut the shackles. Hopefully be able to get into cover after.

Something to consider:

If you snatch up your lightsaber, Crutch will get the drop on you before you can cut yourself free. The Knights may be lumbering and slow, but the assassin is not.

Neutralize him, even temporarily, and you can go for it.

Also- your R3 unit is with you still.

Can R3 do anything funky?

Soapy, being an astromech, is highly multi-purpose, but he specializes in Fix-It and Sabotage. Think of the things R2 can do.

Maybe he could go hey-wire and hopefully cause a distraction like R2 did on the droid ship? Maybe spit oil onto one the knights and light him aflame.

Unfortunately that will result in Crutch blowing a hole in Soapy.

What will Fling do, if I use it on Crutch?Or maybe use combat push to knock a knight into Crutch and hopefully bring him down. Are there environmental hazards?

That would throw Crutch across the room! Possibly over the edge of the walkways and underneath in this cavern. That would certainly neutralize him.

Then that is what I will do.

Just to clarify- you are Flinging Crutch off the walkway, calling your lightsaber to yourself, and cutting your bonds?

That is indeed the plan. Gonna leave me 3 FP's left which is unfortunate.

Sometimes a Jedi must perform the extraordinary to escape otherwise impossible situations.

Which is what Denzral does presently. Without warning, Denzral gestures with his bound wrists at Crutch, who is flung away across the cavern. He hits the walkway's railing and goes over the edge.

At the same time, Soapy starts spraying his fire extinguisher and filling the cavern with a chemical fog! So when the Knights bring their guns to bear on you, they have trouble finding you...

Which leaves you clear to try snapping your lightsaber back from Lothar! Your pool is reduced to nine by Lothar's Force Defense, but four successes sees the lightsaber pulled from his grip and into your hands. He tries to counter but fails.

Now, it is a Dexterity roll to free yourself from your cuffs. If you fail, you risk hurting yourself with your own lightsaber! But you roll the only success needed on the only die you have, and Denzral is free!

Just in time for him to deflect some incoming blasts from the Knights. This time, they're using actual blaster cannons, instead of stun rifles.

"Soapy get behind cover." Denzral orders. (should the two knights not also be in the fog, at least one of them?)

Two of them are next to you, yes.

Right well I'll attack them.

4-1, Denzral acts first. He has a hard time seeing in the fog himself, but the Force guides his hand and (with a sufficient Force roll and a decent attack roll) he impales one of the Knights on his sword. He withdraws the lightsaber and promptly reflects blaster fire back at one of the Knights on the farther side of the platform!

The fog is starting to dissipate, and one bolt explodes at Denzral's feet.
