I have have always consider animes of shows to be supplements of the mangas respectively. Also, if Toriyama didn't like the way DBZ turned out in the anime, he could have always re-done it to match the manga, like FullMetal Alchemist is doing.
So, DBZ anime is legally canon, since Toriyama endorsed the anime, unless you want to also put DC/Marvel under the same rules. That would be only fair, I think.

And nobody ever said Akira didn't like the way it turned out... He just didn't have anything to do with how it turned out.
Um, cartoons, and even some comics aren't canon for DC and Marvel. That's why there are different universe's and elseworld comics.

2. They don't rework an entire issue just to fix minor contradictions, and when one is present, be it a really low or really high one, they are generally ignored. Superman's best strength feat I know of has him essentially moving a solar system sized wheel, but I do not count that as being part of his general strength level, although it should be noted Superman's level of power canonically varies by how much sunlight he has absorbed.

He never moved a solar system sized wheel, he was chained to the engine along with numerous of humans. How about this, put up the scan so that everyone can see it. If you look to the left and the right (I'm thanking ONEDUMB for this and the writer) of the scan, you will see some human slaves moving the wheel along with Superman.

I wish you all took some time looking at these scans before presenting them as high end feats. Superman is still strong as hell though, recently he lifted a pyramid and carried it across space without much trouble.

Very true statement just like DC is currently turning their comics into actual movies? The writers gave permission for them to use their comics as a movie and the movie is based directly from the comic.

Thats like me writing a book and passing this same book on to a movie producer but then saying that even though all of this came from Carver9 book, its not cannon. WTF.

Not all of them are canon. Example : If you watched Samurai Deeper Kyo anime, you'll see that Kyo at the end of anime <<< Kyo at the beginning of manga. Anime SDK is obviously non-canon since it doesn't follow the manga and the manga version is much better. If you say the movie is canon (Or shows canon abilities), It's like saying that DB Evolution shows Goku's canon abilities.

It being 'better' has nothing whatsoever to do with it's canonicity. If one considers the DBZ anime filler to be 'better' than the story that appears in the manga, it wouldn't change the fact that the filler isn't canon.

Generally strength levels take a back seat to the story, you can't expect every writer to adhere to a strict set of rules relating to how powerful Superman is or any other character for that matter. Obviously this is not a problem with manga when there is only one writer from start to finish.

Have a question, if a book is written and a show is made just like the book, you wouldnt consider that a cannon source if the writer agreed with everything that happened in the anime?

That wasnt mainstream Superman, that was a Superman that was dying and during this dying process his powers increased a hundred folds.
I think it was KC Superman, I think. Its so many Supermen out here you kind of forget which one you are talking about.
