It occurs to me that part of what makes this whole process difficult is that these belts are based on tiers that are closed/defunct - even the 'new' tiers thread isn't easy to access or comment on. Power levels also factor slightly differently in a tournament than they do in the comics.

Low Herald, to me, starts somewhere with Iron Man - certain IM armors are the upper edge of high meta, some (namely Bleeding Edge) are solidly Herald-class. Are we generally in agreement that that's where the Herald power level starts?

If so, where do we transition from Low Herald to Mid Herald? I think of Wonder Woman, Loki or Magneto generally repping the Mid Herald power range, with some mid heralds being slightly more powerful and some slightly less, but I just wanted forum input on where we draw the line between Low and Mid.

I was just chatting with someone else about this as well. The ones you named are good examples, all correctly classified. Doom is currently listed as low herald, but likely should be mid, so there's another for the low-to-mid "border" group. I'd personally have him at mid.

It's an odd tier, and one we've not hashed out as well as some due to lack of tourneys (comparatively, groups like high herald and high meta have been done to death). But you seem to be in range. I always determined it socratically: would they rip up a "normal" Iron Man, but lose to a well-rounded but not top herald like Firelord or a non-Hal/Kyle GL (Guy, Wog, etc.)?

The more current Tier thread is decent too. Much more refined than the old one, though obviously still imperfect.

Haven't I made it Obvious yet Leo with Curry's tournament etc? I like to give my hand away and fight from an underdog situation, just to make it more interesting. I even Sent psycho gundam my opening write up before i sent it to the host just to give him a heads up. Of course I edited quite a bit then before sending it to curry.

Haven't I made it Obvious yet Leo with Curry's tournament etc? I like to give my hand away and fight from an underdog situation, just to make it more interesting. Of course it's stupid, It makes my job that much harder and that much more fun. Who wants an easy run?? When you're paying someone who has all your cards laid out for them you have to be that much more creative to have a chance.

psycho gundam can attest that every bit of information I gave him in the PM'd write up was information on my character build he would likely not have been aware of and not prepared for. Potential add ons and power builds etc. On other forums when I've had the debate completely my way because my opponent couldn't see the wholes in my argument I've even on occasion entered the debate under an Alt account and given away some crumbs to undermine my argument and point them in the right direction. I usually deliberately choose low end characters within the guidelines of a tourney etc for the same reason ( Vic Sage/Question and MU New Universe Justice for example in a high meta ??? when both are at best low meta /street, - Challenging mid herald with low herald like Animal man???)

The fun in a debate isn't winning or loosing etc. It's in being as creative as you can in building a plan/story/battle. Telling a tale like has never been done before.

Making shit harder makes that even more a challenge and a LOT more fun.

Dude if yo couldn't win after being handed in advance most of the "surprises" I could offer during the match what hope for you is there.

This I agree with. I try to be as creative as possible in every tournament I enter. But...

Is just stupid. It may make things harder for you, but besides making it easier for your opponent, it would suck simply to win because the opponent (in a way) threw the match. I'd rather face you at your best, and win, then face you with a self imposed handicap.

Hey, can anyone judge in the Id vs Digi matchup for the Curryman's final match? I only have one ruling so far and since battlezones are kind of alive right now I'd appreciate some help to get it done.

The only reason I withDrew was because my prep was disallowed I wasn't used to the idea of p.ming host to get stuff allowed prior because every place I play tournaments the host is a competitor who already has a massive advantage ( full advance knowledge of every levels scenario)

The prep guidelines were as you'd recall the limited time in the base of your brain/mind pick. I'd chosen a mind with no fixed base of operation in fact a mobile one and who had an established history ( over decades) of using enemy bases as his own. The only stipulation made was that you had to show you could get to the places in the allotted time, which since my amalgam unlocked dimensional travel wasn't a problem.

The fact that your Amalgam of three high tier metas had to actually debate hard against my two low tier metas and my street leveler mind put the disgrace on you. Had I been allowed to take on the knowledge of Doom etc as my original and planned strategy allowed and counter everything you brought to the table you wouldn't have even had a come back.

More than happy to open it up exactly where we left off with my stated prep allowed. After all your big deal was a power drainer to drain my character who within himself had no power to be a problem ( the real power I could use came from without)

So your big claim to fame was three high tiers with full advance knowledge of my character build unlocks vs two low tiers and a street mid and you only won via forfeit ??? Yeah I was so disgraced wasn't i 😄

Just bring it in this one, the rules already make me give up a few advantages. So you should have an easy time if your half as good as you think

I PM's badabing, and a few others to ask for judges ( hope no one minds). Operator616 turned me down ( lack of time) and. Badabing said he chase some judges up. No answer from the others. Told them to PM you their judgement and let you decide.
