See I disagree, fiction and history are filled with characters, nations winning battles that they should have lost. Batman and many street levelers with the right plot can take anyone. I used to play tourney's straight, but after nearly 8 years of only having three of four loses (and honestly in two of those I only went down in those because the voters didn't know my characters and back then I never had a scanner - one of my characters could have soloed the whole damn shebang even though he fit the rules) I got bloody bored. This http://www.comicvine.com/forums/battles-7/dream-tournament-rnd-1-beatboks1-v-emperorznb-647276/ was one of my favorite debates ever in a tourney because i had to debate my @$$ off and still lost. I loved my opponents counters and both of us were very creative in the way it played out. No soft picking here at all. this h ttp :/ /thecomicsle dger.prob oards.com/thr ead/48 06/ba dass-ctf-beat boks-dan e (for some reason couldn't make the link work so without the spaces) was another fav. Yeah I picked characters well below those of most others but had a specific strategy in mind from the get go. I don't think either one of these guy's felt bad about taking the win, I certainly never gave it to them, and I would not say I made it very easy for my opponent in the second one at all.
The reason I do it isn't to throw a match but to make sure I get the best possible fight I can. In a current tourney on CV at the moment I have a team member who can possess and control others my adversary has two TPers. we got perks and i picked TP protection for a few of my team. He couldn't think of what to choose for his last perks and I suggested the "soul rape protection. If he hadn't taken my PM'd suggestion i'd have had a pretty easy win since i was protected from his ace and he wasn't from mine.
Writing it here, as the people who care about tourneys/know quite a bit about me and my tourney habits are normally found here🙂
I've finally decided to try my hand in joining CBR Rumbler's League - despite ridiculing it before I'd like to see how I'll fare in CIS-on/character upgrade-on tournament🙂 And how far I can pimp out my staple favorites (out of my normal "stable" only M'gann is taken so far).

Pretty interesting line of thought. As CV tournaments you participate in have more in common with what I want to try...
Also, I'd like to inform everyone that I'll abstain from tourneys/BZ's for a while as a participant, but feel free to count on me as a judge if needed🙂
Well, Im used to CV as a tourney player and debater, but I uploaded many scans to photo bucket, and love to know what current tourney's are going down or a fun street level challenge from someone. I love Image Comics, IDW Comics, and Ultimate Marvel.
So anyone down let me know.

Leo and I are doing a BZ sometime soon. It's a doozy of a matchup, but I won't spoil the surprise.
Anyway, we may be on the hunt for judges in the not-so-distant future.
Also, it's at low herald, so it may not be for a belt, as Leo has the belt with Kang and wouldn't be using Kang for this match. He could always vacate if he wins with the new guy, but that wouldn't be fair to his great match with Phil, and I doubt we want someone co-holding the belt with two characters (although, really, the rules are quite fluid). Were I to win, there might be a followup challenge, but I haven't really thought that far ahead.
