Spanish is really easy.

You are really easy, Debs.

Only when someone can impress me by writing a sweet little poem. And you? 🙄

Spanish.

I never bothered to learn, yet I live in East Texas and, well,...............there are a lot of people here who habla espanol.

Arabic, for the caligraphy

as it stands, I can only transcribe english profanity and slang into cool squiggles

Russian, because there is a bunch of Symbolist and Futurist Russian poetry I would love to actually be able to read in the language it was written in. Not to mention Dostoevsky.

Although both German and French would be temping alternatives.

German, i think it would really round out my linguistic skills... i already speak two languages fluently and i am able to decipher and understand italian, and french..

Korean, because I picked up some when I was stationed there, but I would like to be able to hold a conversation beyond just introducing myself and asking directions.

Taken literally, the first would be the first Native American tribal language that came across the western land

Taken not literally, it was Spanish

The US has a language identity crisis. During his campaign Obama said Americans should learn more than one language, and in CA Arnold advocates English Only education, yet the sum'***** can't even speak English himself.

Actually the Chinese landed in CA a century before the conquistadors. But they didn't lay foundations, they looked around and left just like the Vikings in Newfoundland.

Ah, good point Mota, I forgot about the Chinese and the Vikings.

The Spaniards just stuck out in my mind

To be fair Arnold Schwarzenegger can speak English very well, he has just a very thick accent.
