I think it still was Sentry not Void. Maybe he was so worried about saving them because he thought that Void might appear somewhere else and "balance" everything out the way he usually does. You know, Robert saves a train from crushing, Void sinks a ship etc..
I'm sure that was the Void possessed Sentry. Remember when Osborn said to Sentry that he needs Void to kill those Atlanteans? His eyes went black then, too... that's nothing new, really. In his "Bob mode" he's still borderline retarded.
Anyway, in the next issue it looks like Marvel will reveal some secret (at least I hope so), so let's just wait.

So Sentry will be the ultimate plot device character as Bob he jobs and as soon as they need someone to save the day they simple turn him into Void Sentry, great Marvel...

Sentry went from a "top tier" who was constantly jobbing to an immortal cosmic being that casually overpowers Molecule Man while getting a grasp on his completly new powers. It's not a feat as much as its a complete 180 on the character's abilities and powerlevel. It's one thing to show Wonder Woman being able to punch a planet apart, but it's a different thing to have her reality warp the Spectre into a mushroom and revealing that she has learned about being Mxy's sister.
Unless this issue is retconned into Norman's dream or something equally unlikely, I don't see what is so illogical about pointing out that yes, Sentry is far above conventional heroes.
the complete 180 was need tho with the sentry...he was gettin old and fast...im a big sentry fan and almost pretty much had it with the character...well have to see tho if the chance was good or bad...either way it was need

The odd thing is that since its supposed to be a Superman-like character, that's exactly how Superman works! He seems to manage any threat from street to abstract level by just being the ultimate plot device.
It would be more accurate to say its some kind of "Marvel Spectre" because when they want to get rid of him he's just sh_t, but he can be the plot device to solve any kind of crisis.

cough.
Every Sentry fan I've met likes him because of his power. And I can't say I blame them, given how there's nothing else about the character to like since suckiness is his defining trait. It's not just limited to Sentry, mind you, but that's what we're talking about.
I can asssure you that's not the case with Superman. There are fans, like Jellyrobes from herochat for example, who can write you essays on why he's so great as a character.

Sentry to me seems just kinda...meh. His mental problems aren't really a draw to me and neither is his "power"set. For me, the entire way he was kind of forced into Marvel continuity has had me at odds with the character and the arcs that have focused on him in general have not maintained any lasting interest with me. Crazy characters can be written well, and so can immensly powerful ones. The problem is whether or not Sentry can be.

in general.. i assume its because he resembles the american spirit, nobleness.. honor... a great team leader...
thats why i go with captain america as one of my favorite.s... but i'm not gonna pretend like there aren't some jobber stories with cap in it.
i just dislike a character that develops apparently new powers that for a situation to almost never use them again. if that were true.. why don't zod.. ww... and heck the other 90% of the dc universe that have his powers do the exact same thing.
i also dislike how varied he is..
one minute exposure to an entire rock of kryptonite and he's barely phased... others he nearly dies...
red sunlight... weakens him... disables his powers... etc...
he can smash a planet... but has problems with a plane.. or skyscraper..
consistency is his problem... and thats why i'm perturbed... he's overused and fit to make any story line..
guys like cyclops... aren't like that... hell even wolverine isn't like that..
and superman... doing what he can.. because he's the LAST descendant of a planet... which makes him important to the universe... um.. theres an entire planet of kryptonians...
its just.. its... so... redonkulous! 😘 😘 😘
