They could have put in Wolverine twice and given the Wolverines entirely different playstyles each.
Playstyle is not why I think X-23 is a character that does not need to be in this game, same with She-Hulk. Want MOAR UNIQUE characters, not extensions of pre-existing ones. No matter how you slice it, She-Hulk and X-23 are extensions of Hulk and Wolverine, fandom be damned.
Yeah, problem with that is, the long time fans of the series want functional uniqness, not aesthetic uniqness. People who are really going to play the hell outta this game care more about how the character plays, not really who they are. Hand you a NEW lookin' character and give'im Ryu's moves and all is good. That's what it sounds like. Why would Capcom listen to people who are gonna buy the game and trade it back a week later?
If you go to SRK or Ehubs now, you'll see cats have jumped on the X-23 band wagon cuz she doesn't function like Wolvy, after all and she's phuckin' good.

I don't know why they would choose X-23 over Doctor Strange when Wolvy is there, but I'm damn sure that question aint gonna matter when the game is out cuz no matter how garbage she is in the comics, she's a phuckin' beast in the game. Torneys are gonna have teams built around her and when people are kickin' ass with her, they wont have any regrets.

It was a bad decision, period, despite your claims to the contrary, characters DO matter, is it enough to make me shun the game? No, but it is a flaw.

You wanna know what's a real damn flaw, the pushback pushes back too damn far, Dr.Doom has 0 recovery frames after a midair Photon Toss and Felica's Please Help does shitty damege for a level 3.
I honestly don't care about who the phuck X-23 is, the chick looks like fun. But to each his own, everyone's lookin for somethin' different nowadays.

And again I know they're not 100% the same, but they're that much different and Ken's not different enough to warrant a spot. Especially since the roster is limited. Akuma can do some things Ryu can't, but that doesn't make him completely different.

I honestly am a huge critic of Capcom's moves. I didn't complain about Ken's non-inclusion in MvC because I was stoked at the time that Marvel got to whip Capcom's characters. I was young, and didn't give an ass rat's who was on the roster, as long as I had my mate Spidey. TvC imo was flawed because it only came out on IMO a rubbish system. But No Ken and a MODOK on MvC3-- unacceptable.
