Deadpool's really not that funny, he tries to hard and his jokes are to nerd savvy.

Ammy is to odd, Authur is better.

But this is my opinion.

Deadpool doesn't try at all, and it's the abundance of these kinds of jokes that makes it funny all-around, especially given the demographic he adheres to by and large. Taking the wrong aspects too seriously with no appreciation for the audacity when it works is the reader's/player's own damn fault for passing it off as inherently detrimental to being good just because things like Family Guy or Friedburg and Seltzer spoof movies are what might come to mind first to give the concept itself a chance. You're falling upon deaf ears if you're still trying to preach.

And as Iroh said, Ammy plays almost as fluidly as in Okami itself once you actually get the hang of the character. I suggest spending a little more time to it.

Played against my first sentinel online today, boy did that bring back horrible memories. The guy I was playing against was convinced that he was awesome at the game, ugh >_>

But on a happier note, voting has begun for DLC:

Anyone else think it's stupid that there's no spectating while you wait in the lobbies? I prefer to see what's going on in the fights and not see two gamer cards bumping against eachother for the next couple minutes or more while repetitive music is played in the background.

To me, players repeatedly using Sentinel is less annoying than in 2. The one character I'm annoyed with is Dante. I swear, the only person I fought who hasn't used that guy is Wei Phoenix. I've been facing more than twenty people and each of them kept using him.

Yeah, that's actually an inexcusable omission for me, Nem. Spectating in a lobby is more or less the reason why one would play in a lobby, no? If you can't watch the other players battling then what's the point? Why not just do a normal 1v1 player match? Thankfully spectating is supposed to be patched in later on.

And sorry to say, but I love Dante, he's a really fun character to use. Reminds me a bit of Ken in SFIV - very flashing with lots of fun big number combos.

I also want to mention that I bought the guide for this game, and I have to say it's really impressive. There's a little retrospective of the series which was interesting to read, and there's also tons of great data for every character, including the upcoming characters who will be DLC. There is frame data and some very advanced combos. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in having such data conveniently available to them.

Yeah Nem, Dante just doesn't bother me as much as Sentinel I guess, Sentinel is just cheap on a whole nother level. Dante is at least beatable, and I can still have fun playing against him. And I've heard about the lobbies, though I haven't ever ended up in one, I always play 1v1 because I heard about no spectating, definitely needs a fix. 😬

I actually haven't even touched Dante yet myself (and I still think Trish is Capcom side's biggest waste of a spot in the game). I've been brushing up alot with Amaterasu and I think I've officially found a second perma-main with Taskmaster. I'm thinking the third might be Zero, Spencer, or Deadpool to complete my first real "reserve unit".

Dante hasn't been too much of a problem at all in my experience. Has alot of attacks though and it can be kind of annoying.

Sentinel however lol, is a killing machine. It's come down to sentinel vs sentinel vomit laser spam several times now.

I've been owned by ammy aswell.

played against a bunch of people IRL today. I dominated with Ammy, did ok with Joe, but my Spidey got busted. also need to work my assists to combo into stuff.

Yeah I have a few "half" teams, where I'm only good with one or two of the people and just okay with the third. I'm dominating with Chun-Li in this game though, she's absolutely ridiculous melee-wise.

First character I played and sticked with is Wesker, his speed is ridiculous. Mostly, I've been siding him with Deadpool and Akuma and have been dominating with that team a lot.

I've been fiddling with Zero lately, he's a lot of fun.

I'm using Dante, Deadpool, and Wesker for my team.

Nope. Deadpool will always be a Spidey rip off in my eyes so agree to disagree.

Anyway, Wolverine and X-23 are extremely fun. And Spiderman with web zip is one of the fastest rush downs ever making him very dangerous and fun to use again spammers like Deadpool and Spencer.

Wesker is ironically faster than Dante in his attacking speed.

I just beat 5 Dante and Akuma users online with spiderman and Wolverine, not bad for my first try.

Aside from the fact that he's long since made a name past a comparison to Spiderman, you're obviously not discerning the terms rip-off and parody. Deadpool's as much of a rip-off of Spiderman nowadays as someone like Dan Hibiki is of whatever character he was made in response to. In other words, he stopped being a rip-off when he appealed on themes and grounds Spiderman doesn't even tread for the sake of recognition. Deadpool talks to a crowd far beyond just that of a bunch of groundlessly conservative purists and people who can't acknowledge a good inside joke when they see one.

I'm actually really enjoying playing as the female characters the most in this game, which usually doesn't happen, except for Cammy. And I love Felicia's hyper combo, I don't think there's anything more humiliating.

Side-note: Just saw that poor Nemesis has been reduced to an off-screen death via Hulk's ending. So sad.

There is no shame in getting owned by the Hulk! estahuh

You think that's bad, She-Hulk made Phoenix Wright and Edgeworth wet themselves.

Ugh, I like how this game plays, but I really was hoping they would have done something plot-wise. Instead we get things like She-Hulks ending. The only ending I've seen so far that I've really liked was Phoenix's.

Indeed and I'm rather confused by Hulk's ending. Nittsuma claimed that Nemesis wouldn't appear because of his "Mature rated appearence" and yet there he was, being the gamma monster's punching bag. Sometimes I question what's going on at Capcom and yet, when have I not?

I saw the votes in the voting thread for DLC characters on the Capcom side, things are looking pretty good for Frank West and Phoenix Wright. If I was in there, these would be my recemmendations:

1. Frank West
2. Nemesis
3. Alexia Ashford
4. Leon Kennedy
5. Chuck Greene

When you have a ton of characters, they won't spend as much time on the endings. Fighting games are notorious for that. Although Street Fighter Alpha 3 did a good job.
