Faced a 9th Lord using Magneto, Sentinal and Ironman, guessed his game plan as soon as i saw his cheapo line up and it was a ranked match so i couldn't leave or id feel defeated. I was running Taskmaster, Dante and Trish. All of which rain down merry hell from the skies, his very best keep away / spam game came crashing down, it's possible guys, it is possible 😛

I friggin hate Sentinel. I had no problem with people using him before but that's probably because they sucked but this one guy I faced last night won seven matches in a row, no losses. Here's the kicker, even though he had two other characters to use, he used only Sentinel in each match. Mind you, I lost twice and was in an 8-player lobby.
I'm using Thor/Akuma/Sentinel
It's been pretty effective so far, usually damage all of the opponents team to around less then half health between akuma and Thor. Sentinel usually picks off the remains.
Anyone know how you block those team air combos? I always get my butt handed to me when they do that.

Gotta say it, as a fan of Capcom fighters for a nice portion of my life...MVC3...is not that good or at least didn't live up to my expectations. And I am in now way a beast, at all, by any standards, but for this game...I don't have to be.
'Way' too easy to deal out big damage/Win. My boi got the game a week early and played it non-stop, I played it for 1 damn day and am already on his level. The execution barrier for this game is ridiculously nonexistent. The Holy King of all of Noobdom can do the VERY practical 100%s in this game after about 3 hours of practice. All that other advance shit that they kept form MVC2, isn't really that important any more.
I can't say Capcom phucked up cuz the game does what it does, but the fact that the game is 'nothin' like its predecessor (one of the best videogames ever) is a problem.
And yup, Sent definetly has an edge, but it's shallow and he can get his ass burned the-phuck-up, by anybody. Needless to say, when I really wanted to win, I used'im and Phnx. Lulz, once lvl 3 XF activated with D.PHX, you might as well put the stick down. Even if you block the enire time, I'm gonna kill 2.7/3 your team and that's assumin' they all have FULL health. But Sent, aint worth cryin' about and Dante is easily the funnest damn character to use. Believe it or not, he prolly takes the most skill to use in the game (effectively, anyway), no bull shit. Sadly, the lvl of skill necessary to wield Ammy does not reap the reward you deserve for mastering her? I'm gonna save the full brunt of my brutally harsh critisism for after EVO. But yeah, this game is 'awight' for now. Pretty damn disappointed.
And oh yes, if you thought Ultras were bad, XF and XFCin' are the most terrible comeback mechanics ever. 'Way' too powerful.

U'R not the last person 2 say this. U had me alarmed win U 1st brought it up a few weeks ago. Seems many fans R complaining about this. Win I played it with U guys I thought is was 1 of the funnest fighters I've played since Power Stone. Obviously there is a problem, tho. U should do like U say and wait 2 C if there will B any defining elements that will come 2 light and make the game more challenging 4 U. I'm going 2 borrow my cousin's Xbox and C what online is like.

So I've been using Wolverine as my point man, Akuma as my bar burner, and Ironman as my keep away ranged guy. I think I'm going to keep using this as my main group, seems solid and all the characters are fun to use.
Someone rage quit me earlier, came down to a 1 on 1 battle between my akuma and one of his characters, and i burned an xfactor and did akuma's raging demon hyper and it one shotted his guy, went from full health to dead. The xfactor thing seems like it might be a bit silly to be honest.

Evil Ryu is looking great. Not OP but he has lots of tools and deals a lot, a lot of damage.
