That's cuz people pick them cuz it's the poser thing to do and they think they're just as cool/good as the peeps who used to use those three and were pretty good. The few times I've played this game online, nothing but whiners, ragequiters and pussies. Makes me want to play it offline only all the time.
I heart Magneto and Storm were pretty good, and if they are familiar with them then why not?
I am thinking about using Akuma(cause apparentely he is an offensive powerhouse and I like that in my shotos/cuz I need a shoto rofl) Thor...because well it is fricking Thor(eventhough he is not noob friendly and very slow) and I must find a third >_<
The spamming is starting to drive me crazy. If I hear "DISRUPTOR BLAST!" and "SOULFIST!" one more time...
Also, Phoenix's projectile attacks are retarded. They're like mini-versions of one of Dormammu's Hypers. They force me to spam Arthur's dagger throws and/or crossbow shootings which makes my thumbs very sore.

Finally played this game some at a friend's recently. It's all right I guess, though some of my other friends are already planning to take their copies back to the store soon and return to MvsC 2, and in some ways, I don't blame 'em..
I actually like the game but I can admit that MVC2 is 1000s of times better than this game. As MANY veteran fans have stated, Capcom made this game just a little bit 2 EZ.
Fix the damage lvls and the lvl 3 XF and U would have a better game. @ least every1 is balanced tho.
started playing this. i kept getting frustrated with the game with the first hour of play but then became practically an expert afterwards. the games mad easy to play.
i found out how to do a multi character arial combo on my own. basically launch 'em with A then followed by x,x,y,y, then a, the character switches, x,x,y,y, then a again ,character switches to the 3rd partner, x,x,y,y, and a again, which sends 'em crashing back down onto the platform, followed by my landing and going for the simultaneous triple character super combo. you can mix the combos up for variety and even shorten 'em. but that all i know for now.
my only thing i keep having a slight issue with is launching and catching them. i've noticed that alot of the time when i launch charaters i press up/foward on the d-pad instead of just up which causes me to miss them. i'll just have to remember to press up. cause it looks like up/foward would be the logical direction cuase it seems like your launching them up and away but your're not.
been playing tekken 6 too much a.k.a. my most favorite fighting game currently and of all time.
but mvc3' mad fun. but it's stupid easy. wish they had way more characters too.
