I have a MBP, and it ran Police Academy clips fine on it.
But they were from the first two remotely enjoyable movies.
Snow leopard may actually refuse to play anything from Citizens on Patrol upwards though.... 😉

I remember hearing a while back there was plans for another one i guess that idea died.

It has potential... but they need some good writers and actors.
