Well, what's worse - Vader's "NOOOO..." or Luke's "NOOOO..." from TESB? To me both are the same, and work in the same context.
I don't think it's that bad really. They have done it in every movie. We had obiwan in epi and anakin and obi wan in epii and anakin twice in epiii. Luke in epiv and epv and epvi
I'm probably going to pass on the blu-rays now.

That new Krayt Dragon call by Obi-Wan sounds like something out of Resident Evil...

I don't mean to insult any of you, but saying that you'll pass on the blurays because a single change doesn't please you, is pathetic if you call yourself a star wars fan 😉
Really? I'd rather watch my RotJ DVD than this. Might as well save the extra 100 dollars for something I will actually use.

I'm sorry, but being a fan of the ORIGINAL films is what makes me a fan of Star Wars. All his extra CGI horseshit that changes the story and audio differences that take away the power of the scene are not needed. I'll be damned if I'm going to spend $100 or more on new discs for a butchered series. Lucas is a hack who got lucky with one film, A New Hope.

so you enjoy watching Hayden instead of Shaw 131
I'm still gonna buy it, the extras alone are worth the purchase, even when they'll be leaked for download

Not entirely legit... there's not a real confirmation, Just no denial...
Damn Lucas if he screwed up this Vader moment.
And why is it bad? I don't mind Luke's NOOO... at least he has a reason to be upset. Vader doesn't need a NOOOO in ROTJ. That's why it's bad. He lets his actions speak. It shows the maturity of Anakin: no more whining, moping or NOOOO-ing, just DO what's right.
"People who alter or destroy works of art and our cultural heritage for profit or as an exercise of power are barbarians." "The public’s interest is ultimately dominant over all other interests." "Attention should be paid to the interest of those who are yet unborn, who should be able to see this generation as it saw itself, and the past generation as it saw itself."
-George Lucas, 1988
Maybe George can give Vader another line: "Down the drain with you, you foe....!!!"
How can Lucas not see how brilliantly VAder's emotion seeped through that metal mask. Why.... WHY does he have to add lines to explain vader's emotions... We can SEE IT!!! THROUGH THE MASK!!!! Where is the film maker in you, George? When did that film maker die? After the premiere Howard the Duck????

It's the whole "confirmation" by LFL press representative and no denial that scares me.
Lucas has ****ed us all again with a splintered broom handle and I can see some fans bending over and taking it willingly.
Watching the new Vader moment from ROTJ, it's not as bad as it's been hyped to be. The first "No" is sort of whispered, and the second one isn't as loud as his howl from ROTS. I can live with it.
What I haven't heard is if Hayden's cameo (over Sebastian Shaw) at the end has been adjusted at all. It didn't look right, and why wear those light coloured robes? Hayden never sported those colours as a Jedi.

The whole "No" thing isn't about how it sounds, even though it sounds like shit. It's a crappy copy and paste job from a ROTS soundbite.
The whole issue here is that it completely negates Darth Vader's silent sacrifice for his son. They made Vader into a whiner, just like Anakin in the PT.

I think instead it creates a parallel with Vader near the end of ROTS, when he realizes his terrible actions to save Padme instead turned around to cause her death. Standing there watching Luke being slowly killed by the Emperor, I think Vader realizes he was doing it all again, being a party to the death of his own blood so to speak. I think that's where the "NO!" comes from: it was time for the monstrous rule of the Emperor, and his own empty existence, to come to an end. It was finally time for something good to come from his actions, for the first time since the fall of the Jedi Order.
And you know what? I was there in a theatre on opening weekend in 1983. If Vader had said those words then as well, we wouldn't even have heard him, the theatre broke into such deafening cheers and applause at seeing him pick up the Emperor and hurl him down the shaft.
Vader doesn't make a silent sacrifice anyway, with the dialogue on the platform with Luke and the reveal of his face. So nothing really has changed expect Lucas has punched up the moment more.
