Megaman did keep up with quickman, who was supposed to be able to moe at mach 5. And X is supposed to be superior to Mega in all aspects, including strength and speed. I'd give the win to X, but it'd be a harder fight for him than Ryu would be.
Look X wins fair and square the robotic armor that Ryu would be hitting wouldn't make any decent hits except blowback attacks
As for X he has over the top moves that can kill his enemies in one blow such as Double Cyclone and Rising Tower(Shoryuken) and his charge shot which destroyed battle fortresses
hmmm a match i would probably find more interesting is Akuma V.S X maybe it will be the same result but nobody will know

Yeah, I don't think the base form of any Megaman can beat Akuma...or Shin Bison...or Gill. They will need more than just the Mega and X Busters to pull off a win.
8 x 7 = 36 + 5 = 41
X has over 40 forms of awesomeness who's to say he will lose he can beat ryu his normal can withstand Denjin Hadouken and if his normal armor didn't work he has his ulti armor and 5 forms of his ultimate armor plus his stats increase tenfold with his ulti armor lets just face it megaman just scarred Ryu for life physically and mentally
