The Republic was much worse than in shambles. GO-TO explicitly says that it'll completely collapse in a few weeks/months without something happening. Bioware had better have a damn good explanation on that one.
Probably Revan did stall the Emperor for a time but was ultimately defeated. Maybe he did enough damage to stop an invasion. IDK.

I guess to me, that doesn't make a lot of sense. They have been rebuilding this Empire for a 1000 years by the point of Kotor, plenty of time to develop the necessary infrastructure and military-industrial complex to orchestrate a war, especially on a heavily weakened and battered Republic.

Revan's whole point in Kotor 1 + 2 was that teh Sith were just about to invade. Isn't that why they sent him back to the Republic in order to weaken it for their invasion? And in Kotor 2 he runs off because he remembers they're going to invade.
If the Empire wasn't ever going to invade for 300 years then neither of the previous games make any sense.

I'm not concerned about graphics for the most part. If I wanted graphics I'd play AION.

More like "all talk". What makes him think he's above the Emperor or even on his level? So far the only ones I've seen that are impressive enough are Baras and Revan.
