initial claim was that people prefer the OT to the Old Republic,
facepalm

Old Republic era is a HELL of a lot more interesting than anything else.

Do you find it humorous or ironic how millions of people around the world disagree?
So would you mind telling me where this claim of mine is?

Very true. Comparing DVD/movie sales is very lopsided compared to video games, which are still in the minority after what? 30 years?
In any case, I argue that the Old Republic era is interesting because it's actually like you're in a galaxy far, far away... not a small galaxy with the same 20-30 primary characters. I mean, you'd think the Clone Wars couldn't be waged without Anakin and Obi-Wan being present for everything but the shit battles. Hell, they send Obi and Kit Fisto out on a bluff that JK droids will meet mass production.
Anyways, my point is that I like a setting where some more novelty exists, and there's more freedom to build. PT era is overdone. At this point, they're reaching hypothetical scenarios because the three years have all but been filled with Ani-Obi content. They've shoe-horned in Ashoka, Ventress, Opress, Nightsisters, Durga, etc. which isn't even hinted at in the movie. Its' bordering on revisionism at this point.
And post-OT media was made initially in a void without sufficient details on how things worked like "The Force", "padawans", etc. so you have characters who break all the tenets of the Jedi Order and have fantastical, inconsistent powers and wars with beings that clearly suck (Vong, I'm looking at you). At this point it's basically leeching off of Luke's dwindling fame.
Lastly, there's Legacy. Which is like not having a timezone at all because no one cares.

Sales? Even if we disregard the film sales alone {in the form of theater sales}, let's compare DVD sales vs. game sales and I guarantee a substantial disparity in favor of the films.
^ This was the only claim that was made. So again I'll ask you to show me where I made the claim you accused me of making.
Originally posted by Turr_PhennirYou disagreed with Janus' claim and attempted to prove the opposite. Playing stupid now is too late. Not to mention, your comparison to prove your point was dumb and inaccurate. But lets dissect your alleged claim, disregarding DVD sales at first. You would have to subscribe to one of the three:
^ This was the only claim that was made. So again I'll ask you to show me where I made the claim you accused me of making.
A. The movies are favored over the EU/TOR
B. The popularity is evenly spread between the two.
or
C. There is no way to tell.
Now if you were a smart man and not so quick to jump at Janus' opinion, you would have chosen C. You however, attempted to prove A with DVD sales. Again, your move chief🙂

If the Old Republic was decidedly more interesting to the public than anything else, this wouldn't be an issue, because the sales would reflect that. Hence my response as to why millions of people disagree.

Pros of Legacy... Darth Talon.End of pros.
It's entirely too close to Luke's current stories.
Forgot to add, even if you did ONLY attempt to prove that a disparity existed and nothing else, the comparison would still be idiotic. You'd first need to find out how many people were familiar with/have exposure to the OT vs. the number of sales, and compare that similarly to TOR stuff, assuming we get past the illogical video game vs. movie comparison.

Plus Ostrander brought back several characters from his Clone Wars comics and gave them very prominent roles. It's just stupid.

If millions of people being either ignorant of TOR's existence or being simply "not gamers" was a valid argument, then yes, you'd have a leg to stand on. But as it's been pointed out, FAR more people watch movies than play games, much less MMO games. So your point about millions as reflected in sales is irrelevant.

Would you like to compare video-games sales alone?
Sure, we can do that.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (1.58 million: 1.48 million in US,[19] 100,000 in UK)[20]
Star Wars: Battlefront (1.22 million: 1.12 million in US,[19] 100,000 in UK)[20]
Star Wars: Battlefront II (1.13 million: 1.03 million in US,[19] 100,000 in UK)[20]
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1.123 million
923,000 in the US[32]
200,000 in the UK[42
KotOR, the premiere Old Republic era game, outsells platinum hits like Battlefront and The Force Unleashed, which are movie-era blockbuster hits.
