Is anyone interested in Star Wars the Old Republic?

Nope, but it has more appeal to hack and slashers and those less interested in storyline, which is TOR's main selling point. Considering TOR hasn't marketed itself as anything but revolutionary in its story telling methods, I don't understand why flocks of regular forum members are crying for raw PvP sans the story. That's like signing up for a cruise and bitching because you have to cross water to get to an island; you knew what you were getting in to beforehand.

Because said forum member swant to live their dreams of fighting other people with lightsabers and Force Powers. They want to be those characters, they don't care about being a monk or a ranger, they want to be Luke, Obi Wan, Vader, Maul etc.

Living your dream of fighting with lightsabers and Force powers isn't really their motivation though. Most of them profess they're in it for the direct competition, and few express strong SW opinions and viewpoints. It's unlikely many have played KotOR or even watched more than a few movies.

So the subgroup appears contradictory, intensely interested enough in the game to follow it, ***** on the forums, and sign up for beta testing, but not interested enough to take the storyline seriously and roleplay. There's many more games that they could have played if PvP/raiding was their preferred manner of play.

If so there are plenty of other games for them to play.

Not which offers the same as SWTOR will. Jedi Outcast was there, but thats passed by now.

Idd but then pn the same token when its a new game people will be inexperienced "pros" have there chance to make there mark on the leaderboard etc.

Jedi Outcast/Academy had the best saber fighting of any Star Wars game. I've yet to see any that even matches it.

😐

I'm going to leave the context of this emoticon ambiguous, but I do agree with u.

Yeah.

*sigh*

Jedi Knight vs Bounty Hunter.

'You will realise what a complete idiot you are' :Jedi hand wave:

Lol, pwnage.

JKA's saber fighting was fun, but ultimately chaotic. Unless you were abusing certain special moves, much of it was button spam and chaos.

I never actually played Academy, I'm just guessing it was similar to Outcast. That game's multiplayer was excellent for sabers. The Duel 1-on-1 matches were f*cking awesome. You had to get the timing and control just right.

Exactly, CLICKx100 who dies first? Thats all the saber combat ever amounted to me, I couldn't work it out for the life of me.

So far yes, but I just want to see SWTOR pvp with sabers.

Best part about JKA though was the way you could be so mobile. Unlike RotS' duel mode or KotOR's static NWN mode, you could flip, roll, jump, etc. Gave you an idea of being this fast Force user.

There was a truly frenetic feeling to the combat. My fights always had a desperate quality that I've only ever felt in 1 or 2 other games.

Too bad the developers are doing crappy games right now.

Patch stuff.

Huttball exclusive. Haha, I watch Totalbiscuit's StarCraft stuff, hes great. Hopfully a good look at the gameplay.

Edit: Either totalbuscuit is really good (he isn't), the Jedi Knight is OP or the Sith player suck ass.

And Force powers were moderate and feasible, and went well with the avatar's mobility.

12 minutes... gaaawwdd...

Can you summarize?

Actually its 5 videos, all 12 minutes long.

The gist is basically:

'Revan mastered the Light and Dark Sides and was fcking awesome! Will you die for this cult you've been a part of for 2 minutes!?'

'Nope. I'll just tell Darth Janus where you are so he can carpet bomb you freaks into oblivion. Seeyah.'

That's not a spoiler. Kreia already got it across how butt-f*cking perfect Revan was. But what I didn't know was that BioWare modeled a Sith Lord after Janus.

Cooool.

You can tell its him because he always wears a mask.

Even a Sith balks at revealing Janus' face to the world. Some things are too cruel....

Holy crap, there's some Darth Janus poser all over the net now. He has a FB page, mySpace, Deviantart, etc.

I'll have to kill him.
