2010 FIFA World Cup

I don´t think it´s the players, although some of the ball control was pathetic. It´s the strategy and team setup.

They obviously feel nervous about the system, don´t have confidence in their team mates and in general arn´t comfortable with the whole setup.

What amazed me were some of the back passes to James, who isn´t the best in the world. They could have resulted in goals.

Even if they get past the group stage, a hammering is on the cards if they meet a top on form team.

It is the players, at least to a great extent. Same old names, same old shit.

There was more reason to give a penalty than to disallow the goal, horrendous decision. Respect to both teams brilliant game!!

Well as technical ability and movement off the ball is concerned Slovenia are probably the best team in the group.

England are nervous, chaotic, out of shape in a physical and tactical sense, they lood like a bunch of strangers who are playing together for the first time.

I can´t see CRAPello changing that before the next game, and all Slovenia need is a draw and that would mean the winner of the USA v Algeria game would go through🙂

Do you think America got screwed in the Slovenia game, or was cancelling that 3rd goal the right call for the ref?

I think that ref was just flexing his muscle "Take this, America".

Ive seen the repeats numerous time, I & various TV experts including the German TV panel I watched on another channel were baffled by the decision. The ref probably saw a bit of shirt grabbing and pulling but his brain didn´t work out that is was the Slovenia players who were the perpretators of the fouls. The goal should have been given, or a penalty for the US simple as that really.

I see Anelka has been up to his rebelious antiks again, aparently telling the French manager to "go F**K yourself, you s*n of a b*tch". I like people who speak their mind, before the world cup he said "in France we choose unusual people to be manager of the national team" another dig at Domenech.

bye bye Cameroon, one of many African teams who are going to out at the group stages, I predicted all would go out but one might get lucky. You have to admit even though they have passion, the tactics and disipline not to mention some amateur class passes and set pieces are pathetic.

Italy are diving left and right, even the commentators are commenting on it now.

Nothing new there then, ooo only got a draw which mean they have to beat Slokia🙂

Well done New Zealand, no one gave them a chance before the tournament so they are doing well.

For Englands last group game I would have the starting line up as follows

James

Johnson Terry Upson A.cole

Lennon Gerrard Barry J.Cole

Crouch Defoe

I would have Rooney on the bench, to be ultimately used as a 2nd half substitute. When he is on the pitch, he isn't given room to breath by opposing players, as he is perceived as our danger man. This wouldn't be the case with Defoe, who is a very good instinctive goal scorer, though not as good an all round player as Rooney. Lampard has been anonymous, while Joe cole is our most creative midfielder.

Well the French team is becoming a bit chaotic.

First Anelka is kicked out for insulting the Manager.
Now the player´s have refused to train and Evra had a row with the fitness coach who stormed off. The France team director Jean-Louis Valentin has also announced his resignation over the incident.

Maybe the players should have brought up the problems BEFORE the world cup🙂

I hate when players insult their managers. It's not their fault you play like shite.

Brazil played well in this match. Controversies were there though.

Fabiano's first goal was spectacular.
Fabiano's second goal could have showed skill, but it came with 2 hand-balls. >__> The goal should have been disallowed.

Drogba missing the header just after the second Brazilian goal was really pathetic. He should have scored there. The score would have been 2 for Cote D'Ivoire.

Hell, the final score should have been 2-2. 😐

That was a disgusting piece of unsportsmanship from Keita getting Kaka sent off. Hopefully FIFA can do something so he doesn't miss any games.

About as unsportsmanlike as Fabiano lying to Referee srug

FIFA should do something though.

So far it's looking like one of the worst world cups ever.

Infact, I'm rooting for Netherlands, behind England of course.

I disagree, these second stage matches have been pretty entertaining all in al. Not to mention the fact that every group is pretty much setting themselves up for a great 3rd round of matches (ue to the sheer unpredictability of it).

Especially after the "Henry" Fiasco, he needs a few games suspension.

Brazil were by far the better team though, It just suprises me that they don´t attack as much or do as many cool tricks as they used to.

Hardly the same thing. The ref shouldn't have asked Fabiano that and Fabiano didn't pretend he was injured to get a player sent off.

I suppose, it will be interesting. Once again though, it seems Ivory Coast will have to sit out the qualifying stages.

They really should've been in group E or D, rather than G.

Portugal have just hammered N. Korea 7:0, which means even if Portugal loose against Brazil, the Ivory coast need to score a lot of goals
to go through. Which lets face it won´t happen.

Italy are also very unlikely to top their group.

Hopefully Netherlands will beat them in the Ro16.
