Got a question about the Group tiebreakers. I read somewhere that when two teams are tied in point total, they go to goal differential instead of head-to-head results. Is that true?

Because if that's the case, I believe if Spain and the Swiss draw in their next match and score the same number of goals, Spain will advance.

If the points are the same, the goal difference is the next deciding factor, then goals scored if that's the same then the direct comparison. that is for example if Spain and the Swiss have the same points and goal difference, and the same amount of goals scored, Switzerland go through because they beat Spain🙂

So basically Switzerland need to stuff Honduras to go through.

Uruguay - Mexico was a solid game. Go eff'ing Uruguay in their division!

Psssh, Uruguay will lose to England in the quarter finals, and then England will eventually come in 4th or 3rd.

Don't see them beating Netherlands, Brazil, Spain or Italy tbh.

You think England will advance?

Good luck, but I do hope they trample England. Are these two a guarantee to face-off?

Only if England wins and the US lose or win with less difference AND they both win their next match after. Which I doubt, really. I think it's more likely that England gets knocked out, or at least isn't going to take first place in their group.

Oh, nice if they get lucky Nigeria might still qualify after all.

Lol, or not.

Very doubtfull, to many problems in the team. Maybe a lucky goals or something like that could get them through, or if Slovenia decide to go for a draw and Crouch scores from a corner near the end.

Adio Hellas. (bye Greece).

Glad to see another old fashioned defensive team go out.
S.Korea v Uruguay will be a good game methinks.🙂

Good game though, they both fought tooth and nail, Nigerians don't have to leave ashamed.

England will go through. I've been reading up on the team and they are really looking hopeful against Slovenia. They want to prove to everyone and really make up for the horrible show they've been putting on.

I trust them, I know they can do this they just have to have some faith in themselves.

I know they are giving their best, but they are mentally and physically knackered. The long season with all the cup competitions, then when they normally go on holiday to recharge the batteries, they are off to participate in the World Cup.

Other countries like Germany have a winter break, pulled games forward so the season came to an end earlier so Low could spend more time with the team, and so the team can recooperate.

The English FA has to change something as the massive ammount of games is telling, you only have to look at other foriegn Premiere League players in the world cup, same underperformance problem.

1:0 Defoe yipeeeeee, it´s looking better.

I see the USA got another valid goal disallowed.

Yeah, the US is getting screwed, big time.

Yup. Should have had a win before (+3); should have had a goal now.

Remove the anti-U.S. refereeing, U.S. should go through.

Oh nice for the US.

**** yes USA!!!!! DONOVAN!

So, if Germany wins tonight they'll be up against England.

So england advances?
