He wasn't aided in beating up Superman which is the point whereas the man of magic actually aided in him defeating Atlas because he couldn't do so on his own.

it wasn't that one-sided.
but he was aided. superman stated during the fight that something was wrong with his powers. that doesnt just randomly happen.

Superman can take on DD but needs some kind of plot device to defeat him which means he really isn't a peer.
