Darkseid. How the hell did this myth that High Heralds can beat DS based on two instances of jobbing/shit writing get spread?
Two instances? I can count about 10 off the top of my head. Needless to say he's been retconned more times than I can count due to his lack of being badass.
If Mary Marvel can deflect the OE with her hand, and Superman stacks up physically to him...what is he going to do? Gladiator could just fly to the Baxter building, grab a flight of stairs and have DS fall down them for the win.
He's done some badass stuff, but in all honesty the character really is a joke. He only wins 6/10 fights against Gladiator IMO.

Right Amped Mary Marvel who Darkseid was trying to restrain, not kill/incapacitate.
Someone is butthurt that Apoc is a loser so he's going to try and badmouth Darkseid. 😂

Maybe because their have been more than 2 instances when a certain High Herald has looked superior to him?
Jobbing is jobbing no matter how often it happens, and in DS's case he doesn't job nearly as much as some would lead you to believe.

If you ignore context maybe. He has only two concrete losses to Superman. Both of which are pretty clearly cases of writers forgetting DS's powerlevel to make Superman look good.Jobbing is jobbing no matter how often it happens, and in DS's case he doesn't job nearly as much as some would lead you to believe.
What context? Superman defeated him.
I count 4 losses for Darkseid. Two where he gets put down. In the others, he resorts to running away with his tail between his legs, and in the last one, he resorts to battle field removing Clark.
That's not counting Final Crisis. There's another sixth fight where Superman clearly looked superior.
Gladiator has a symbol in his chest. Logic dictates that he folds in this fight.

The other two instances I'm curious about. Darkseid has walked away from fights without actually retreating. A lot of their encounters actually end with Superman in rough but mostly good shape and Darkseid walking away rather than pursuing a pointless struggle.
They didn't fight in Final Crisis. 😂
Superman's jobber aura aside Darkseid has a solid record of defeating High Heralds that casts his defeats at Superman's hand in a very dubious light.

Superman beat Darkseid in Apokolips Now #1, and Superman/Batman #13. In Action Comics #586 he resorted to battle field removal after Superman outmaneuvered him and beat his ass down. In Superman/Batman #72 he resorted to running away after Superman beat his ass down because he was scared Superman was going to put him back into the Source Wall or something similar *snicker*
He also looked noticeably superior against Darkseid in Countdown To Final Crisis Week #49.
Oh that's my bad. I meant fifth fight and not sixth fight. Superman kills him in Final Crisis by singing.
Superman rises above all other High Heralds from DC when work needs to be done. He is DC's No. 1 hero and Darkseid's bane..
