I do agree with introducing newer characters in the main portion of the game but with this one since it's about the events of 1-3 I can see just adding him here. But from here on out since the events are different I'd rather see newer characters initially included.

I think it depends on overall reaction how big of a role he will play along with their personal preference. No one has ever just stormed onto the mk universe and been as immediate an impact player as he has consistently.
Well as long as the male vampire character or whatever has a bigger role in the next game or so, then I can accept him just being a DLC character for the current game. Kinda like how Blaze was first introduced in Deadly Alliance and then became much more important later in Armageddon.I do like how they show him telekinetically controlling his sword in one part, something he should've been able to do from the start. His fatalities look sick too. Li Mei will always be my favorite newcomer from Deadly Alliance, though.
I was po'd he wasn't playable in mk vs dc yet in the game's story anyway. I hope the male vampiric character if that comes true is an impact player and looks awesome.

I never played DA for more than 5 minutes, so I don't even know how Kenshi plays, but damn those moves are sick!!!
He could easily be my new favorite kombatant

I was po'd at the cancellation of MKvsDC's DLC in general, which was due to the bankruptcy Midway was going through at the time and whatnot. Quan Chi, Harley Quinn, Doomsday, Reptile, and I believe some others were originally supposed to be DLC characters. They wouldn't just have Quan be in the game's story and intentionally have him not as a playable character in some way unless something interfered with their plans... I did like though how all the voice actors for the MK characters in MKvsDC were in MK9 as well.

Yeah, that's true. I forget if whether he first appeared in the Defenders of the Realm cartoon or if it was in Subzero Mythologies, but regardless, he's definitely the one post-MK3 character whose had the most significant impacts, and consistently.I was po'd at the cancellation of MKvsDC's DLC in general, which was due to the bankruptcy Midway was going through at the time and whatnot. I hope they learned that gore and violence is needed to satisfy the mk fans now with the failed experiment against dc characters has come and gone.

Looks like a combination of Noob, Ermac, and Scorpion.

Yeah, I think they learned from their mistake now as far as that. God forbid there ever being a MKvsDC 2.
Originally posted by Ridley_PrimeI do like that he's an elder god but part 4 and the fact he was a shang tsung without the personality just turned me off of the character. He isn't terrible like Blaze was but someone like Onaga immediately drew my attention unlike Shinnok. I think Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, and Onaga are the only three baddies who originally appeared as the last guys have been effective from the get go.
A combination of the top three most overused online characters? Eww. Now I can somewhat expect to have to fight Kenshi more than like any of the ninjas when he comes out... If he's as skill-based though as Skarlet, Mileena, Shang Tsung and the like are, then I prolly won't mind it. (and when I say skill-based for Mileena, I don't mean spamming her ball roll, sais, and telekicks, lol)What's so bad about Shinnok? I'd rather have Onaga back over him too, but I didn't mind an ex-Elder God being the main villain for a game or two back in the day. Not having the real amulet being his achilles heel made him real easy to beat though, plot-wise. But he did make Quan Chi more powerful than he originally was like Shao Khan kinda did Shang Tsung, so there's always that. Creating a clone of himself to fight in his place in the battle of Armageddon was a smart move on Shinnok's part too, although sorta cowardly. All and all though, as long as he's not a Shang Tsung ripoff in terms of gameplay like he was in MK4, then I won't mind fighting him again. But ultimately, I can see MK4 and the Deception arc all being a part of the next game's story (with Armageddon being retconned), like how MK1 through 3 was all a part of the current game's plot.

That's true I kinda hoped for a branching off more but could see a part 4 onto the Dragon King kinda thing.
The only crossover I would approve of is an mk/soulcalibur. Soulcalibur has always been my second favorite fighting franchise and with their weapons the fatalities would be cool.
I'd love to see Shao Kahn run into Nightmare or Shang Tsung run into cervantes. Goro rnning into Astaroth.

Exactly. And if they decide to bring back x-rays for the next game (which I'm hoping they do), I'm not sure what I think Shinnok's would be (though I've heard some clever ideas about it), but I could see Onaga grabbing the opponent and punching the skull or something, then flying up and slamming them on the ground head-first, which would do as much damage as Goro's, Kintaro's, and Kahn's x-rays, if not a little more. X-rays in general were one of the most original gameplay mechanics they came up with yet, and would hate to see 'em go the next installment.
As for an MK/Soul Calibur crossover, not a bad idea, especially compared to the one we actually got before MK9. I liked most of the 'critical finishes' the characters had in SCIV and such, even if they sorta felt like toned down versions of MK's fatalities, but maybe an MK/SC crossover could have both for each character, similar to how there were both fatalities and "heroic brutalities" in MKvsDC.
Kenshi vignette trailer.
Free classic Smoke and Noob Saibot costumes coming out next week. Love the Smoke one myself. Guess it answers my question too as to why he wasn't in the 1st skin pack...

Nice. If only these Klassic Costumes would have Klassic Fatalities, like Scorpion, Sub-Zero & Reptile did.

Kahn on the story mode, or arcade ladder?Inorite? Those three definitely should not have been the only ones to have classic fatalities of some sort. That reminds me, still hoping animalities will become DLC eventually, somethin' Boon has considered.
Is there any difference? They're both easy to beat, with the right moves.
Indeed. I'd hope that everyone on the MK Roster would have Klassic skins and Fatalities.
Yeah. Though I do wonder what Liu Kang would get, seeing as his second fatality is basically an animality. Also, weren't Brutalities confirmed or something?

Yeah, and not just for the ninjas. Hell, I'd like to see a classic version of shirtless Johnny Cage where he doesn't have his name tattooed on his chest. >_> I normally use his secondary costume (the black version when you press start twice) whenever I use him because of that.
Maybe Liu would get a different version of the dragon fatality or somethin'? Regardless, I miss getting to see Shang Tsung turn into a giant cobra snake, Scorpion turning into a penguin (unless you count his fatality in MK4 where he turns into an actual scorpion), Raiden turning into an electric eel, etc.
As for your question on brutalities, I honestly don't know about that at the moment. If they are confirmed though, I hope they're not as complicated to pull off as back in the day. I could hardly ever do one of those legit for the life of me. So many buttons to remember.
