I know he's out of place compared to the rest, but I just like Cage in the sense that he gives comic relief to the series with his personality and style of fighting. 😛 That, and being fun to use and all. Those are some all right choices too.
I was actually happy in the armageddon opening to see Onaga snatch shao Kahn. I feel like he deserves his revenge even though I'm not quite sure who I like more of the two.

As cool as it was at first, I think the part with Onaga snatching Kahn prolly got retconned since it was revealed at the beginning of MK9 that the latter had won Armageddon. Instead of going after Kahn first, Onaga should've just flew straight up to the top of the pyramid to kill Blaze, then get his revenge on Kahn... I blame CIS for that not happening.
If Kahn were to somehow escape his imprisonment from the Elder Gods after MK9 (or if someone were to help him do so), it would be cool if the Dragon King actually got his well-deserved revenge on him in the new timeline.
Originally posted by Ridley_PrimeI still think Onaga snatched Kahn since it's canon but what happened after that is anyone's guess. Someone else hit Onaga or Kahn broke free himself. There was so much chaos unless we see the entire fight we can't determine anyone was really beaten one on one without anyone else getting involved.
Same here for the most part, and yeah. Raiden's grown more on me too because of MK9. Same with Ermac, whom I would include if I was to list a top 6 instead of a top 5.As cool as it was at first, I think the part with Onaga snatching Kahn prolly got retconned since it was revealed at the beginning of MK9 that the latter had won Armageddon. Yeah, that's true. The battle of Armageddon was one thing I had hoped they would tie all the loose ends with, but apparently that wasn't the case. Some editors of the Mortal Kombat wikia site even twittered Ed Boon, asking him who killed who in Armageddon, but I don't think there was ever a response. srug
Huh.
After seeing that, I'm glad they made Kenshi more original with his telekinesis so he wouldn't feel like an Ermac 2.0 as he did before to an extent. Will definitely try him later today when I can find the right time...
Originally posted by Ridley_PrimeYeah, they leave it vague but it was such a messy fight with combatants everywhere I don't see it as definitive proof that Shao Kahn did defeat Onaga or even how he got free. Who knows what ed boon thinks.

Yeah...
Also, in case anyone needs to know, the button combinations for the rest of Kenshi's finishers are as follows-
Fatality 2: b, f, d, f, 2 (jump distance)
Stage Fatality: d, f, d, 3
Babality: d, b, d, 1
His sword combos are actually kinda fun, and his 1st fatality that's already in the move list from the start was definitely the best one, needless to say. Predictable ending was predictable though.
Next up... Rain, I guess.
Aside from gameplay, how can you really compare the two? Skarlet seemed to have quite a bit more combos and stuff than him. Her only downside was her x-ray doing only twenty something percent damage, but with how well it can be used at the end of a combo made up for it. While I was disappointed with her backstory, she still had one of the most original powers shown yet in the series (being blood-based and growing stronger off of victims' blood and whatnot), so I like her for that at least, and cuz of red being my favorite color. But Kenshi's cool too, don't get me wrong. Especially now more than ever.
Originally posted by Ridley_PrimeI am basing nothing off the effectiveness of using the character just made an observation and to me Kenshi is more original and has a cooler backstory. He always stuck out to me as original but this girl seems like the poser ninjas. Good overall but nothing that really stands out to me.

Oh, okay. I agree that Kenshi has a cooler and more original backstory, but Skarlet seemed to have the more original moves/powers for the most part. Doesn't make the way Kenshi uses his sword now any less cool, though. Even his telekinesis didn't feel too much like Ermac's like in the previous games he was in.
Originally posted by Ridley_PrimeYeah, I hope he becomes a regular mainstay and would love to see Sonya, Jax, or cage to the curb.

I'm sure Kenshi will, as far as being part of the Outworld Investigation Agency and whatnot. Why would Sonya, Jax, and Cage be put on the sidelines though? If anything, Cage's ending (whether it's canon or not) and the fact he survived everything (as opposed to the original timeline) tells me he'll be an even bigger contender in the future. Not sure about the other earthrealm characters at the moment however.
What arcade endings are you hoping will be canon? If Quan Chi's ending is canon, that'll make Shinnok even more anticlimactic as a character, as he won't even be present in the new timeline then. lol
Originally posted by Ridley_PrimeVery rarely do any endings become canon though it has happened. Quan Chi always gets the better of that dope Shinnok. I just hope for the next game they really follow up on story mode's events and make it clear what happens in the next one with an awesome beginning similar to how awesome deception's intro was. Loved Shujinko's voice too.

With the exception of like one or two games, there's usually a select few endings that end up being canon, and/or semi-canon (where part of an ending ends up actualy happening or ties in with something to do with the next game, while the other part of it doesn't). But yeah, hoping for the same there too with the next game in general.
Ya referring to old man Shujinko or one of the younger versions? All had different voices, but were pretty good nonetheless. Liked Taven's too, but with Armageddon being supposedly retconned, he'll prolly have no purpose in the new timeline if he gets awakened, unless he's just there to stop Daegon or somethin'.
Originally posted by Ridley_PrimeOld man Shujinko's voice is awesome. While fighting on the pit level I think you can see Daegon fighting another mk character in the background. The possibilities are kinda exciting.

I liked Daegon for some odd reason.
Yep, I noticed Daegon on there too. The characters he fights in the background seem to be different each time or random. But yeah, I like how they show the different possibilities with the whole stage background concept too. All started when they had Blaze and Hornbuckle on the pit's background in MK2...
Daegon was all right I guess. He only became what he did though because of the lies and manipulation fed to him by Shinnok, which caused him to kill his and Taven's parents, but it was an interesting twist admittedly in how they revealed that he was the one who founded the Red Dragon organization and not Mavado.
