Not to mention NO ROBOTS FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF. It's called "Transformers," not "Humans." And if you are going to do that, at least give me characters I give a rat's ass about instead of joke setups with legs.

Tis not logical to command how everyone else should recieve the movie.
The reason for the subplots and bullshit was cause as you you say, every good trilogy finisher is built on strong foundations...and Bayformers can never be assessed as that.
Get cowboy builders in, you get collapsed roofs. Simples.
There were so many plot holes in this that it defies description.
A question was raised earlier about how the decepticons were on the moon? It was because
Spoiler:
Sentinel Prime had made his deal with Megatron, therefore he took them with him. They were the ones who took the cannisters/pillars from the ship. But thats another plothole....the deceps were shown shooting down the Ark at the beginning... this was never explained. Nor why Prime didnt look round and go "Hey this Ark is fu*king FULL of decepticon corpses!!! Whats up with that!!!!"

Ironhide slaughtered like a pigHell, even some random new characters were killed off and got more mourning than him.
Seriously, what the hell? I know it's war, but Bay doesn't understand the difference between the "This is war" mentality, and just being a heartless individual.
Spoiler:
Another turn off to me was just how unnecessarily brutal some scenes were, not to mention some of the dialogue. Optimus going "We'll kill them all" AFTER he just let millions of humans die at the hands of the Decepticons just to make a point, only for there afterwards to be a scene of the Autobots ritualistically tearing an enemy apart limb from limb is NOT how I perceive being the good guys.
So I've now seen this movie twice, not because I liked it that much but I had to cause different friends I was hanging out with all wanted to go see it.
That said this movie was just like the previous 2. Some decent action scene mixed with way too much fluff.
I do think tho that the action scenes were much better in this movie then the previous ones, but the other side also seemed to be upped as well.
First off I want to say whats some of my biggest gripes were with the films.
1) The transformers were taken down way to easily by humans.
2) The Sam story was way too overdone and the Autobot story line seemed more inserted into it rather than it being a piece of the whole.
3) The needless extra human characters just over doing things. The sector 7 guy has always bugged me, Sam's boss, the Wang/Sam interactions were just way to over done to try and get a few extra laughs out when I think they could have shortened the interactions by half and still gotten the laughs they wanted. Sam's parents are always annoying.
Now a lot of other gripes of mine have already been mentioned in this thread in regards to plot so I'll get into somethings that were good.
Now with all that being said this movie made a ton of important over some of these gripes. Basically everything to do with gripe 1. The Transformers finally seemed to be the alien super beings they had been mentioned as being.
When
Spoiler:and the for the first time I can remember in this series besides the military base scene in 1 the humans really didn't seem to take any of the Transformers down unless they had Autobot help which has always been a big problem of mine. Even though I think they still messed up a few times with it I think this time I really felt they would have lost if it hadn't been for the Autobots.
Decepticon Army showed up and and started causing hell was awesome. When they destroyed Chicago that was cool,
I also liked how Optimus Prime was shown in this movie.
Laserbeak was also a very awesome character in this movie even though his
Spoiler:
death scene was really lame
Also some of the death scenes in this movie were stupid like
Spoiler:
Starscream's, that was totally just a waste of time and effort and character imo, as mentioned above laserbeaks. I actually liked Ironhide's cause it was emotional and showed the true potential that this series missed out on. They should have expanded on it instead of glossing it over. Same thing with Wheeljack's.
Also I really enjoyed the Sentinel Prime character and how he played out.
The humans shaould never have been able to kill TFs.
Thats not what Tfs was about...
Otherwise why need the Autobots at all?
Spoiler:
Both Starscream and Laserbeak's deaths were caused by a humans... strange given your stance on whether or not humans should be able to kill TFs or not.. I mean I think its dumb...Starscream should have killed Sam like 7-8 times during his scene... Laserbeak probably should have killed him before that, too...!!!

Ok fine he made the deal with megatron but if that is the case why didn't they just try this plan from the start? In the first movie and that they needed the cube to revive sentinel?? Too many plot holes for me.

Spoiler:
As for their deaths I mentioned them in my post as stupid deaths for a reason. Aside from that though I think the humans killing transformers was done much better in this movie then in previous ones. Even the Starscream death scene, while totally stupid, at least it was inventions by Wheeljack that killed him instead of human tech. And Laserbeak had his head shot off by a Transformer gunship so at least those were there. While in the previous one the human would have taken them down with buzzsaws for simple human guns. I'm not saying they were perfect and they were still stupid for many reasons but it was better.
Way better than the second one but thats not saying much...
Anyhow my biggest gripe is
Spoiler:
Megatron'd death...That was so stupid. Tron just saved Prime's ass and how does Optimus repay him? BY shoving an axe into his head. WTF! I thought Optimus Prime was a hero. Furthermore Megatron has been a primary villian in all three films, yet they don't even bother to give him an epic final battle (not even one that lasts ten seconds!) with Optimus despite the fact that the film runs well over 2 hours...
I'm sick of all these villains becoming jokes. Starscream is taken out by Sam of all people. And Soundwave was owened by Prime in less than three seconds. I mean what's the point of these Decipticons if Prime is just going to cut them all to bits anyway?

Wow, what a piece of dog shit this was. Oh well, this is exactly why "Transformers: Prime" exists: To give a level of entertainment that Bay will never understand, let alone listen to.I'm not even reviewing this movie. 1/5, and that's being generous.
Spoiler:
Seeing him get offed by a human was a disgrace

And yet in the 2nd crappy movie megatron is bowing down to the fallen like a ***** too and he didn't care about that. I never saw megatron do that in the cartoon.
Bay must not employ people to check for consistany, even the simplest thing like Apollo 11 being on the dark side of the moon they messed up.

And yet he clearly didn't seem all that intrested in attacking Optimus. In fact he proposes a truce. ANd then he gets one of the worst deaths imaginable considering he is the main villian of the triliogy. Really, Optimus just seemed off in this movie between his begging for life, shouting "Kill them all!", and how he killed the defenseless Sentinel Prime he just wasn't the character I loved and grew up with.

I've always disliked that cowardly backstabber Starscream. He has less honour than Megatron, and getting it like he did was poetic justice.

where did all the decepticons come from? They were just kickin it on the moon this whole time?
That is what I was wondering. I guess it's a plot hole cause apparently they were on the ship with sentinel even though the deceptions were the ones who shot it down in the first place and then they just waited on the moon for 60 years? Till they were ready, which they could of done in the first movie. It would of been better if they had a handful of deceptions still on cybertron including shockwave and bring them to earth via the space bridge.
